Delma Kathryn Grigg Saunders

Funeral Link: https://youtu.be/cSvSnJ9K68o Delma Kathryn Grigg Saunders, age 84, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on November 1, 2022, in Saratoga Springs, UT. She was born March 30, 1938, in Ontario, Oregon to Francis Nephi Grigg and Addie Crummett. She is the eldest of eight children. She attended elementary and middle school in Vale, Oregon and high school in Ontario, Oregon where she was a member of SPURS Honor Society. After graduating high school, Delma moved to Provo, Utah where she attended Brigham Young University majoring in music. Delma enjoyed playing in theater orchestra performances, The American West Symphony and Chorus of Sandy, Utah and volunteered for the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition. For many years, she performed recitals that brought joy to many in her community. While at Brigham Young University, she met Wayne E Saunders and they were married June 13, 1958, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They became the proud parents of nine children, Karen Birdsall (Blake), David Saunders (Jill), Loraine Lott (Lon), Bruce Saunders (Holly), John Saunders (Adria), Richard Saunders (Lisa), Robert Saunders (Liann), Kathy Gibson (Rob), Jeanette McArthur (Troy), with forty-six grandchildren and fifty-five great grandchildren. Go Mom! Delma was preceded in death by her husband Wayne E. Saunders, husband of fifty-six years; Angel Saunders, granddaughter; Bryson Pratt Saunders, grandson; Owen Johnson, great-grandson; Emerson Jay Hally, great-granddaughter; Greyson Seth Wright, great-grandson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 663 W. 400 N. Saratoga Springs, UT 84045 A Viewing will be held that same day from 9:00 am to 10:30 am, with services beginning at 11:00 am in the chapel. Interment will be at the Herriman City Cemetery. We are forever grateful to Inspiration Home Health and Hospice for their tender care of our mother in the last few days of her life. Thank you to Serenity Funeral Home for the respect and dignity they showed towards our family.
