Donna Rae Galloway

Donna Rae Galloway, 64, passed away on Jan 27, 2018 in West Jordan, Utah after a valiant battle with colon cancer. She was born March 7, 1953, in Andalusia, Alabama to David Moroni Smith and Altha Lucille Wiker. She was married to Chad Richardson Galloway in Elko, Nevada on April 6, 1974 which was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple. She was a courageous fighter, an inspiration to her children, a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was always happy and had an infectious laugh that will be missed by many. A trip to the store was never brief as she could talk for hours to anyone and made friends with everyone she met. Her outstretched arms were always waiting to give someone a hug to make their day a bit better. She fought bravely, making having cancer look easy. No matter how sick she was she stayed positive. Most did not know how sick she truly was because she never complained. Her heroic upbeat attitude kept her going and kept others going. She was not cancer, but what her having cancer taught us will go on forever. Every day may not be a good day, but there is something good in every day. Survived by husband Chad; children Alana, Angelina (Lance), and Adam; grandchildren Alexis, Bryson, Makenzie, Victoria, and Clinton John; brothers Randall (Jennifer) and Ron (Patricia); and sisters Sandra (Steve) and Phyllis (Todd). Proceeded in death by parents David Moroni Smith and Altha Lucille Wiker (George Wiker) Service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chapel located at 6567 South Wakefield Way, 6035 West, West Valley City, Utah 84118, on Friday February 2, 2018 at 11:00am and a viewing will be held on Thursday February 1, 2018 6:00-8:00 pm and before the service from 9:00am-10:45am at the chapel. .A short Graveside service will be held following the funeral at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary and Cemetery 3115 East 7800 South Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121.
