Eliana Elizabeth Espinoza

Eliana Elizabeth Espinoza 1925-2015 Eliana Elizabeth Espinoza, 90, passed away at Orchard Park Rehab in Orem, Utah, on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 1:39 p.m. She was born on August 31, 1925 in Santiago, Chile to Manuel Ramírez Contreras and María Raquel Diaz Morales. On December 24, 1943 she married Vicente Espinoza Cordova. She spent most of her childhood in Santiago where she lived with her mother and her grandmother, Elvira Luisa Morales Farías. After attending grammar school, she attended a vocational school where she learned hairstylist and cosmetology skills and other trades. She enjoyed working on looms, knitting machines, sewing and creating clothing, apparel and various crafts and projects for family, friends and part of her work. She was a skilled and avid gardener all of her adult life. Her vast garden was a wonderful hobby and a great solace to her, especially later in life. In 1962, she joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served with great enthusiasm as Chilean Mission Relief Society President, among other callings. In 1968, she immigrated to the United States, along with her husband and mother, making Provo, Utah her home. During the time she lived in Utah, she was employed by the Provo LDS Temple, Brigham Young University-Housing Department, and after retirement, she joined Mountainland Association of Governments, Latino Senior Citizens Group, where she served as the Community Coordinator. She always enjoyed providing service to her community, church, family and friends. She is survived by her son, Luis V. Espinoza, daughters, Cecilia E. (Glenn) Marston, and Nelly Zamorano Espinoza; grandchildren: Luis (A. Susana) Espinoza, Kerina Elizabeth Espinoza, Glenn (Michelle) Marston, Jr., Ryan Luis Marston, Berta Zamorano, Gloria Zamorano, Nancy Zamorano, Sandra Zamorano, Fernanda Zamorano and extended family; great-grandchildren: Luis Genaro Espinoza, Jessica Bianca Espinoza, Vincent Cameron (Haley) Espinoza, Cristian Kimball Espinoza, Brisa Tatiana Espinoza, Alejandra (Taylor) Cowley, Galina Espinoza, Fiona Marston, Phoebe Marston. Cousin: Enrique O. Corrales (Cristina). She was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Ramírez; mother, María Raquel Díaz; brother, Jorge Ramírez; daughter-in-law, Cleria A. Espinoza. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at the Grandview East Stake, 1081 West 1060 North, Provo, Utah. Family visitation will be held at 11:30 a.m. The family would like to express their gratitude to all the members of the Grandview 20th Ward, especially the Sisters of the Relief Society, who took special care of Eliana prior to her surgery. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Christopher Pelt, Dr. Adam Bergeson, Dr. Dr. Lawrence Nobuhara, Cory Miller, and team for their medical care; to the management, staff, Dr. Jolley, nurses and CNAs of Orchard Park Rehab; and to Dr. Lore and his team at Horizon Hospice of Orem, Utah.
