Elizabeth Fay Gygi Riganto

Elizabeth Fay Gygi Riganto passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on September 29, 2023. Fay was diagnosed in mid-August with Stage 4 metastatic esophageal cancer. Fay was born in Norfolk, Virginia in 1951 and developed a deep love of the ocean, beaches and lighthouses. Early in her teens, she spent countless hours practicing and playing the piano. She graduated with her Masters degree in music education. In college, she traveled to Germany where she met LDS missionaries and became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. After returning home and finishing college, she met the love of her life and best friend, Maury F. Riganto III. They later married and were sealed together for all eternity in the Manti, Utah temple. Fay and Maury raised their three children in Virginia Beach and then felt called to move out west, where they ended up spending the rest of their lives together in Draper, Utah. Fay's dedication to her faith, family and their future never cease to amaze those who knew her. She was kind, caring, loving and joyous. Her life force and positive energy came from a place inside that seemed to have no end. Her gift in music shined brightly through all of the callings life gave her. She loves her Savior, Jesus Christ, and was never embarrassed or too bashful to say so and stand up for her beliefs. Her reach of love knows no bounds and will never be forgotten. Her children know that she is reunited with her husband and her family that she has missed so much over her life. There is no doubt it was a joyous reunion when she was called Home. Fay is survived by her greatest joy in life, her children: Maury F. Riganto IV, Gygi Koster (Dan), Dawn Riganto (Terry). Her grandchildren all held a tremendous space in her heart and she cherished each of them: Makenzie O. Babonis, Orion S. Riganto, Aiden C. Koster, Lillian G. Riganto, Drew A. Koster, Ellouise E. Koster and great grandchild, Drew L. Banner. Fay is preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 50 years, Maury F. Riganto III; her parents, Andrew Gygi and Sidney Gygi; and many dear family members including aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and all of the greats. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the South Mountain Stake Center, 1911 E Gray Fox Dr, Draper, UT 84020 (Next to the Draper Temple).
