Funeral Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0F_lMkCI44 Our Mother, Wife, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, Sister and Friend Helen May passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 21, 2021 with her testimony of the Savior burning strongly in her. She was welcomed with open arms to her husband Ted and her Mother & Father. What a glorious celebration!! Helen was born in Fillmore, Utah on March 15, 1936 to loving parents Edward and Afton (Lambert) Finlinson who loved the Savior, walked His path and taught His path to Helen. She was the first of 5 children. She was born with the gift of gratitude and simplicity. This was with her throughout her life. She was also gifted with musical talent. Piano, Organ and Clarinet. She attended & graduated from Millard High School in 1954 and played in the Band including marching in the 24th of July Pioneer Parade in Salt Lake City. She attended the LDS Business College. She met her husband Theodore Clyde Jorgensen at Sweets Candy. She was in charge of handing out the paychecks and met him while giving him his check. They were married on May 24, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. Helen and Ted have four children - Kenneth, Kevin, Michael and a foster Native American sister, Margie. They raised their family in Cottonwood Heights, Ut. Helen loved her children so much. She was a “stay at home Mom” and supported them in all of their interests and pursuits. She was their biggest cheerleader. She was always “there” for each of them. Time was her most precious gift that she gave freely. Her greatest treasures were her husband, her family and her burning belief in the Savior and His plan. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family - whether it was for a visit, a family dinner, a vacation, a reunion or any other time that we were together. She enjoyed traveling with Ted, but would rather be at home. Her grandchildren Pace, Natasha, Kelsey, Bryce, Ryan, Heidi, Alicia and Adam were the light of her life and she spent countless hours reading, playing, cooking, crafting, camping & attending all kinds of sports and musical events and traveling with them. She would always say, “Fir Fun!” and “Oh Mercy!” Helen was always super proud of her garden. She canned countless jars of fruit, jam & vegetables, made who knows how many batches of apricot fruit leather and babied her gigantic FERN from her Mother, that is still living to this day! Every Family Dinner included her famous Parker Rolls and homemade raspberry jam. Her Baby Grand Piano was one of her treasures in life. She taught a few of her grand kiddos how to play and she always played for Ted and church events. A treasured song was, “It’s fun to get together on this Reunion Day!” written by her sister Bonny. Helen served and served. She was and is the epitome of unselfishness! Her thinking was based on everyone else's needs before herself. You would ask her what she wanted and she would reply, “I don’t know”. She only wanted to do for others. Never herself. This included Ted, her children, grandchildren, her parents and siblings and of course all of her friends and Ward Family. She served as Relief Society President and teacher of Primary, Young Womens & Sunday School. She served 3 Missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. Her heart and soul beat because of her firm testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She is preceded in death by her Husband Ted & parents Edward and Afton Finlinson. She is survived by her children Kenneth (Shauna), Kevin (Kim), Michael (Kris) & Margie and 8 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren. All of her siblings Steven, Edda Gay, Bonny, Joleen. Along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Her greatest wish is to be reunited with ALL of us! She loves each of you, is still praying constantly for each and everyone of you and will be watching over all of us until we are reunited with her once again! Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 10:00 a.m. Butler 10th Ward 6634 S Greenfield Way, Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121. Interment at Fillmore City Cemetery, Fillmore, Utah 2:00pm.
