James Clyde Brown

Our sweet, generous, brilliant, "dorky", insightful, father, friend, husband, brother, grandpa and uncle has died of bladder cancer. He was born February 18, 1947 and died November 26, 2014. He leaves us devastated at his passing but grateful for the blessing of having known him. James was preceded in death by his parents and one of his two sisters. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Jerri, a sister: Linda Jo: five children: Jennifer, Jaisen, Mary Dove (Nacho), Akimel (Nino) and William; three step children: Amber, Natalya (Channing) and Alyssa; six grandchildren; one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He quickly welcomed and loved his son-in-law Channing as well as Joe and Rob. Jim had many friends. His most enduring friends “JY” (James T) , Dan and Brek and his most recent friend and confidant, Pete were very important to him. His little grandson and favorite little buddy, Emerson, could always make him smile. James was a Registered Nurse for 51 years and helped more than 1000 people transition from life. He served in the US Army during two wars and was proud of having worked in every area of healthcare. He was a gifted writer and left thousands of pages of brilliant and beautiful prose. We will hold him in our memory every day. This will eventually give us peace and comfort. James has requested no formal services. He will be cremated with a portion of his remains interned at Veterans' Cemetery 17111 South Camp Williams Road (just north of Camp Williams on Redwood Road) Bluffdale, UT. Internment will take place at 10:00 am. We will be holding an informal gathering following the internment in the chapel at that location. Whether you are able to attend or not, Jim has asked that, those who wish to remember him, go to a favorite place, think of him and drink a liquid of choice. The family would like to thank Good Sheppard Hospice, particularly Leesa, Shawnee and Sydney for their incredible caring and patience through this very difficult time. James considered the opportunity to die at home to be a true blessing. To the tears we cry at his passing, Jim has told us: "Each drop the replenish of my soul, each tear a child of my amnion" –JCB
