“Matt” Matt Williams - Loving father, son, brother, and uncle passed away unexpectedly at the age of 43 on February 9, 2021, after losing his earthly battle with addiction. He was born November 9, 1977, in Salt Lake City to James Harlan and DeeAnn (Cutler) Williams; he was the 3rd of 4 siblings. Matt grew up in Bountiful where he attended Adelaide Elementary, South Davis Jr. High, and Graduated Woods Cross High School “Class of 1996”. He played multiple sports throughout his school years, but his passion was always baseball. Throughout his high school years, he was on the WX baseball team. Matt had multiple jobs but found his passion in cooking, advancing to becoming a sous-chef. Matt was always the life of the party; he was always the start of contagious laughter and loudness. He loved holiday parties with his family. Matt loved watching and playing sports; he was a devoted fan of the Yankees, Eagles, the Utes, and Jazz. He had a heart of gold and was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. He loved his family - especially his children, nieces and nephews. Unfortunately, Matt battled the demons of addiction and was currently trying to rid his life of them. Due to Matt’s addiction, he couldn't be the kind of father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend that he desired to be. Matt is survived by his three children; daughter Alana Rae Wall, daughter Kylee Grace Williams and son Dean Harlen Williams; his Mother DeeAnn Williams; sister Corie (Scott) Samuelsen, brother Mike (Apryl) Williams, sister Chalene (Garin) Servoss; his many nephews and nieces and great-nephews. Matt is preceded in death by his Father James Williams; Grandparents John and Donna Williams; Norma Leming, and Robert Cutler. A viewing will be held Thursday, February 18, 2021, from 6:30 pm- 8:00 pm at the West Bountiful 5th Ward Meeting House, 840 N. 800 W. West Bountiful, Utah. The funeral will be held Friday, February 19, at 11:00 am, with a supplemental viewing immediately before the funeral at 10:00 am. Services will be streamed on-line at https://zoom.us/j/93966390644. Due to COVID-19, guests must wear masks and practice social distancing during the services. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
