Joshua Andrew Bell

Joshua Andrew Bell was born December 26, 1975 to Carolyn Evans and E.L. Bell Jr, sharing his father's birthday. Josh grew up in the community of Jones Creek, Texas and attended school in Jones Creek and Freeport, Texas. Even as a young boy Joshua was never at loss when it came to meeting new friends, its safe to say that he never met a stranger. His love for family was strong and always present, he strove to help anyone and anything in need. After graduating from Brazosport High School, Josh entered the workforce and became a NCCR qualified craftsman, working in many of the plants in the Houston and Lake Jackson areas. He served for a short time on the Brazoria Volunteer Fire Department, before moving to the Salt Lake City in 2005, where he continued to work as a journeyman craftsman for some time. His dream was to become a counselor at a local mission to help those less fortunate. In his off time, Joshua loved to fish, camp, and commune with his friends and family. He was an avid baseball player in his youth and once met the recent hall of fame inductee, Craig Biggio. Joshua walked right out on that field and talked with the future hall-of-famer just as if he had known him his whole life. He truly never met a stranger. Joshua was drawn to the word of God as a moth is drawn to the warmth and light of a candle, he spent many hours reading and conversing about the written word of God. His faith was strong and true, never questioning the path that God had set him on. When his Mother passed, he was a beacon of light and pillar of strength as the family prepared to say goodbye to the matriarch. Joshua's love for his Mother and faith that she had reached her reward after a long journey through life was a comfort to us all. Joshua was called home on a cool January day, leaving us saddended in our minds but joyous in our hearts. He once said to me that when his time had come he planned on having a long talk with God and a big helping of Mom’s roast. Joshua was preceded in death by his Mother Carolyn Bell, Grandparent’s Ida Fay Bell and E.L.Bell Sr., Effie Evans Dickey. Joshua leaves his Dad, E.L.Bell Jr. of Hallettsville, Texas, Brothers Gene Bell and wife Bethany of Seabrook, Texas, and Jason Bell and wife Nicole of Hallettsville, Texas, Nephews Jeremy Bell, Stephen Bell (wife Tristen), Jacob Bell, Nieces Charity Pepper, Megan Wall (husband Kevin), Maryn Bell, along with several great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, including Mrs Doris Camp of South Carolina. “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:14, NIV) In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Salt Lake City Road Home.
