Mafi Seini Uipi

Mafi Seini Uipi, age 34, passed away on September 1st, 2022, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is survived by her mother ‘Oto’ota ‘a e Kakala Uipi; brothers Randy Uipi, Salesi (Kaci) Uipi, and Ross (Ivalani) Uipi; sisters Ilisapesi (Sefita) Finau and Fifita Uipi; nephews Leki and Huni; nieces ‘Ota, Lose, ‘Esita, Burly, and Seini. She was preceded in death by her father, Siosiua Lonati Uipi, of Fakakai, Ha’apai, Tonga, and nephew, Joshua Lonati Uipi of Phoenix, Arizona. Mafi was born on January 31st, 1988, in Vaiola Hospital, Tofoa, Tongatapu, Tonga. She is a proud alumnus of Hilliard Memorial School, Liahona Middle School, and Liahona High School. She also graduated from LDS Business College in 2014 with an Associate of Science Degree in Integrated Studies with an Emphasis in Accounting and from Utah Valley University in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. Mafi immediately lit up any room she entered with her smile and laughter. She loved spending time with her mom, especially accompanying her to family events and social gatherings. She learned how to hold her ground against her older siblings, and they learned how to love her as the family’s baby. She enjoyed game nights, and late-night taco runs with friends. She offered shelter for those that needed support and lent a listening ear to troubled friends. She was world-renowned for not holding back her opinion and had a knack for telling it like it was. She always told you the truth, even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. Mafi endured so much physically and emotionally and fought hard until the end. She knew God and was willing to let his plans for her prevail. She will always be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. A viewing and memorial service will be held from 8 – 11 a.m. and the bishop’s service from noon – 1 p.m. at 4200 W Skye Dr, South Jordan, Utah, followed by the burial at Riverton City Cemetery. The family would like to thank the ER at the University of Utah Hospital, Huntsman Cancer Institute, and the nurses (Terina and Tati) for their compassionate care during Mafi’s stay. They’d also like to thank all family and friends for their support and prayers.
