Susana Latu Faleafa

Susana Latu Faleafa passed away on Memorial Day, Monday 31, 2021. In the care of her eldest daughter, Momota Linda Wilstead in Lehi, Utah. She was born on June 16, 1949 in Ha’akeme, Vava'u, Tonga to the parents of Feleti Onevai and Losana Hungalu. Susana had 4 siblings growing up in Tonga- Loseline, Mele, Sulieti, and Fatai. Susana met her future husband, Kuliha’apai Faleafa when she knocked on his door while serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were later married and sealed in the temple in Hamilton, New Zealand in November 1974. Together they served a couple's mission, serving their fellow people in Tonga. Their eldest son was born while they were serving the Lord. They were later blessed with 2 more sons and 2 daughters. Susana moved with three young sons from Tonga to follow her husband to Hawaii, where he began his education at Brigham Young University. They were able to move permanently to the U.S. and settled in Utah in 1994 upon her father's passing. Susana retired from Nestle after 10+ years. She spent her retired years with her husband until he passed away peacefully in their home in Provo on April 22, 2016. Afterwards Susana continued to serve in the Temple alongside her sisters in the Sunset 12th tongan ward.She loved to participate in the church ward activities, singing in the choir, and doing her visiting teaching. She loved to serve and served the lord with all heart. Susana's selfless love and kindness touched all who came into contact with her. Susana is preceded by her husband Kuliha’apai Faleafa, Feleti Onevai (Father) and Losana Onevai (Mother). Most recently, mom's sister, Mele Pulotu Halahigano also passed away, a week after Susana. Susana is survived by her sister Losaline Ma’u Toutai (Sister), Sulieti Niupalau (Sister), Fatai Onevai (Brother). Her children: Taha'afe(Son), Motau (son) and his wife Esther, Kuli Jr.(Son), Linda (Daughter) and her husband Colin, Marie(Daughter) and 9 grandkids. Susana was very loved and will be sorely missed by family and friends, who are grateful for the loving memories and heartfelt service she provided in the community. Funeral Services for Susana Latu Onevai Faleafa will be on June 11th, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 3145 W Mayflower Ave, Lehi UT 84043. There will be a funeral service from 10am-11am. Then there will be a viewing from 11am to 1pm. Then Susana will be interred to the Provo Cemetery, 610 S State St Provo, UT 84606.
