Bailey J Sherman

Bailey J. Sherman, born December 12, 1996, in Salt Lake City, Utah, was an irreplaceable person whose humor and adventurous spirit left a lasting mark on everyone lucky enough to have loved him. From childhood, Bailey kept everyone on their toes, always on the go and never afraid to see where life might take him. That curiosity and determination followed him throughout his life. Bailey had an incredible sense of humor and a particular love for the kind of "stupid" humor that could make everyone around him laugh, even when they probably didn't want to admit it was funny. He was incredibly smart, a walking collection of random facts. He had a natural curiosity about the world and genuinely loved knowing how things worked. Bailey found his place in excavation. He took pride in his work ethic and had a phenomenal talent for operating heavy equipment. He loved being outside and working with his hands, although he definitely did not love the cold. Yet, regardless of frozen fingers and wet boots, every winter you would hear him dramatically say “If you're cold while working, you aren't working hard enough.” Bailey loved staying busy. When he wasn't working, he could usually be found messing with his vehicle, and if he got bored enough, he had a way of discovering a problem with his truck that mysteriously hadn't existed before. Above all else, Bailey loved the mountains. If he had a choice, the mountains are exactly where he would choose to be. Bailey is survived by his daughter, Storii Lopez; his mother, Kimberly Sherman; his father, Rudgel Sherman; his brother, Brandon Sherman; sister-in-law, Angie Sherman; his 2 nephews, Kasey and Brooks Sherman; his step-father, Jimmy Carter; his grandparents, Ellie Baker, and Connie and Harv Hansen, aunts and uncles; his numerous cousins, and the love of his life; McKayla Thulin; along with the many friends whose lives he touched. Bailey lived fully, anchored by adventure, hard work, and love. In a world that normalizes disguise, Bay simply chose to be himself. He is deeply loved and will be remembered, and missed more than words can express. A celebration of Bailey's life will be held Friday, August 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m, including a Dove release at 12:00 p.m, at Serenity Funeral Home, 13863 S 2700 W, Bluffdale, Utah 84065.
