Brendon Joe Griffith, age 35, passed away on June 27, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Brendon was born on April 17, 1991, in West Valley City, Utah, to Benjamin Joe Griffith and Tracy Frances LaFae Hawthorne. He is survived by his loving parents; his siblings, Kendall Freeland, Jared Freeland, Jaison Freeland, Jimmy Hampton, and Bella Bliss Westhuisen; aunts and uncles, Cecil Hawthorne, Anthony Hawthorne, Patty Bartlett (ED), Jamie Hawthorne, David Hawthorne, Joey Hawthorne and his wife Kinda Hawthorne, daughter Rylee, numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Shayna Freeland, and her father, Mark Stonewall Freeland. Brendon spent his childhood living in both Utah and Montana, where he developed a deep love for the outdoors that stayed with him throughout his life. He was an excellent student, earning straight A’s, and enjoyed participating in chess club and R.O.T.C. Those who knew him admired his intelligence, curiosity, and natural ability to solve problems. He began his career in roofing before becoming a skilled crane operator, a profession he took great pride in. Brendon was known for his strong work ethic and his willingness to teach others everything he knew. He believed knowledge was meant to be shared and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those around him. In 2019, Brendon met Angelina, who became the love of his life, his best friend, and his soulmate. Together they built a life centered around love, family, and shared experiences. He was a devoted father to Isaiah (Kaitelyn), Maiya, and Orlando, and a proud grandfather to Dominic and Layla. He also shared a special bond with the family’s beloved dog, Spazzy Rae, who was a constant companion and part of many cherished family memories. Brendon’s greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved creating memories, sharing stories, and making those around him laugh. Brendon loved traveling, exploring the outdoors, and embracing new adventures. Whether he was working, teaching, or simply spending time with family, he brought determination, generosity, and a kind heart to everything he did. He will be remembered for his quick wit, his adventurous spirit, his intelligence, and the deep love he had for the people closest to him. Though his time with us was far too short, Brendon’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
