Carole June Dianne Gardner Larson

Carole June Dianne Gardner Larson, 1943-2023, of South Jordan, Utah, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2023, at the age of 79. Today, we celebrate her life and welcome her to stay a part of our lives as an angel in our hearts. Born on June 27, 1943, in Trowbridge, England, Carole was the only child raised by Iris and Jeffrey Gardner, two decorated military officers, who gave Carole the gift of the world as her playground. She grew up all over the world, and finally settled down after meeting the love of her life, John Andrew Larson, at Utah State University. In 1963, after a 6-month courtship, Carole and John were married. Together, they raised three children: Deborah Anne, Paul Andrew, and Alexis Melinda Dianne and were blessed with eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Carole was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her loved ones, collecting rocks on long hikes, trying to figure out how to feed the newest creature brought home by a child, or playing cards with her family long into the evenings. She loved to laugh and to make others laugh. Anyone who knew Carole will long remember her unique yodel which she used to call her children home from playing each night. No matter how far away her children were, they would always hear her call because most of the other children in the neighborhood would try to mimic it, spreading it even further into the evening. Her favorite thing in the world was to spend time in the mountains at her peaceful cabin with her beloved husband, John. Truly partners in life, they were rarely apart and loved to explore the mountains on snowmobiles, ATVs, snowcats or anything else with wheels or treads. She was happiest with him on the mountain and they were married for 60 years. Carole is survived by her loving husband John, children, Deborah (Greg) Williams, Paul Larson, Alexis Anvekar; grandchildren, Derek Lucero, Ryan (Jade) Lucero, Mitchell Williams, Shannon Rakes, Melissa Ashcroft, Dhilan Anvekar, Leela Anvekar and Jayan Anvekar; great-grandchildren Averie Lucero, Branch Lucero, Remi Lucero, Ace Lucero, Ari Lucero, Makayla Rakes, McKenzie Rakes, McKenna Rakes, Liam Rakes, Tayden Ashcroft, and Tyler Ashcroft. A memorial service will be held on March 7, 2023 at noon at Mount Pleasant City Cemetery where she will be surrounded by family and friends to see her off to her next adventure in peace and love. Carole will be deeply missed by all those who knew her. Her legacy and love will live on in the hearts of all those she touched.
