Chad Paul Ruiz

Chad Paul Ruiz, our loving father, son, brother, husband, and friend passed away unexpectedly on March 31, 2015 at the age of 43. He was born on March 21, 1972 to Paulane and Ralph “JR” Ruiz in Salt Lake City. He married the late Joni Woodbury in 1993. Together they had 2 amazing children, Rylee and Connor Ruiz. In 2013 Chad was reunited with the person he was meant to spend the rest of his life with, Charilyn Peterson. They later married that same year. He was born and grew up in Glendale, then later moved to Kearns. This is where he made friendships that will last a lifetime. Chad was an accomplished athlete, excelled in football and wrestling. He was one of the captains of the Kearns football team, who took state championship in 1989. This is where he formed the brotherhood of “K-Town”, the bond that will never end. Chad demonstrated at a young age, his ability to lead and succeed in his career. He started at an early age in management and quickly climbed to the top, becoming a Regional District Manager for a number of great organizations. Throughout these years, there was not a life that he did not impact, whether it was on a professional or personal level. Chad was a great mentor and coach, who went to great lengths to help anyone and everyone he could. Chad was an avid outdoors man, who had a passion for fishing, camping, off-roading, snowboarding, the beach, and surfing. Chad loved Arizona, often visiting family, expressing his desire to live there. Chad had a personality that was larger than life. His sense of humor was contagious. He was ALWAYS the life of the party. Some would say, he brought the party. He loved to have a good time and dance his heart out. He loved to sing Karaoke, not that he was the best singer, though he thought he was. He is survived by his wife, Char. His mother Paulane Ruiz (Charlie Amezquita). Children; Rylee, Connor, Charbri (Brandt Peterson). Grandson, Greyson Peterson. Siblings; Travis (Tricia), Jason (Camille), and April (Andy). Nieces and nephews, Madison, Mackayden, Kaya, Ava, Zoey, and Easton. Chad is preceded in death by his father, Ralph “JR” Ruiz, his aunt, Judy Jordan, and uncle, Steve Bridge. A viewing will be held Friday, April 3, 2015 from 6-8 pm at the Ashley Park Ward, 10310 S Ashley Park Drive ( approx. 2000 East) Sandy, UT 84092. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 12 Noon and viewing prior to the Funeral Service from 10:30-11:30 am, also at the Ashley Park Ward. Following the Funeral a Graveside Service will be held at the West Jordan City Cemetery located at 7800 South 1300 West, West Jordan, UT 84088. To any and all that can attend, your presence is welcome. Chad loved many and was truly loved by more.
