Cleria Amalia Espinoza (Muñoz)

Cleria Amalia Espinoza (Muñoz) Cleria Amalia Espinoza, 71, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2013 after a brief battle with cancer, in Provo, Utah. Born on March 12, 1942, in Santiago Chile to Humberto Muñoz Pinto and María Cleria Zamora. She married Luis Vicente Espinoza in Salt Lake City, Utah and their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on August 27, 1965. They are parents of Luis and Kerina. Cleria made her home in Provo, Utah for the past 40 years. She also lived in California, Arizona, and Oregon. She graduated as an Executive Secretary from the Instituto Commerical No. 3 in 1962. She earned the equivalent of a Masters degree in Information and Document Management. Cleria worked for LAN Chile Airlines, LDS Seminary and Institutes, Worldwide Corporation, and the Ezra Taft Benson Agriculture and Food Institute—Brigham Young University. After her liver transplant in 1994, she returned to work as a Translator and Editor for the Benson Institute until her retirement in 2007. Cleria was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, joining the Church in Santiago, Chile in 1962. She served dutifully in several callings, including Relief Society President, a teacher in several organizations, Visiting Teacher, and her favorite and last calling, Transcriber to her husband, who serves as a Patriarch. She was an avid BYU football and Utah Jazz fan. She could not be interrupted while watching her games. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a fabulous cook, a lover of adventures, crazy about her grandchildren and lastly, she loved holding hands and dancing in the kitchen with her “eternal boyfriend”. Survived by: Luis V. Espinoza, Luis (Alicia Susana) Espinoza, Kerina E. Espinoza, Alejandra Espinoza, Galina Espinoza, Luis Genaro Espinoza, Jessica Bianca Espinoza, Vincent Cameron Espinoza, Cristian K. Espinoza, Brisa T. Espinoza. Gladys M. Muñoz (Pasadena, CA), Josefina (Maurice) Abib (Pasadena, CA), Humberto (Marcela) Muñoz Z. (Santiago, Chile). Eliana E. Espinoza and a large extended family. Preceded in death by: Humberto Muñoz Pinto (Father), María Cleria Zamora (Mother), Manuela del Carmen Moya (Sister), Berta del Carmen Narvaez (Sister). Service will be held Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grandview 20th Ward, 1081 West 1060 North, Provo, UT 84604. Interment will be at the Provo City Cemetery.
