Darlene Hawks Kuck

Darlene Hawks Kuck was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She radiated joy and made the best of every situation. She was selfless, truly unique, and a kind, loving soul. Darlene always put others first and never let anyone feel as though they did not have her total support. She encouraged everyone especially her children and grandchildren to achieve their dreams, work hard and most importantly never give up. Darlene left this world peacefully on January 18, 2022 at the age of 78. She was born to Norman and Faye Hawks on March 1, 1943 and was brought up with five dearly loved younger brothers David, Terry, Monty, Douglas and Rick Hawks. Darlene met her husband and forever sweetheart, Robert Wayne Kuck in Middleton, Idaho and got married on February 14th, 1959. They had six children: Russell (Belinda) Kuck, Jeanie Broce, Joby (Jeanna) Kuck, Gretchen Kuck, Nate Kuck, and Heidi (Blake) Fausett. Robert and Darlene together had twenty-one precious grandchildren: Lindsay Evertsen, Chelsea Stair, and Chloe Kuck; Alexis, Colby, Bosten, Enzie and Jack Goldschmied; Dajah Santos, Jadha and Robert Stewart; Anyssa, Kristyn, Kendra and Dawson Kuck; Nicholas Kuck; Hayden, Clytie, Clara, Henry and Howard Fausett. There are also thirteen beautiful great-grandchildren: Kadance, Skylee, Hope, Carter Bryan, Adelynn, Ayva, Alta, Dixon, Charlee, Carter, Cobain, Elijah, Josiah and Noah. Darlene loved spending time in the kitchen, entertaining and creating delicious meals for her family and community members. One of her greatest endeavors was working on family history. Darlene so enjoyed sharing stories about ancestors' travel explorations and bringing family history to life through her travels. She shared her love of the arts as an accomplished and renowned seamstress in the Utah dance world. Many dancers had their costume dreams become reality in her magical workshop. Always busy, there was never a project too big or anything she could not do. It was as if all things she touched seemed to shine! Darlene was a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving at the Family Search Center in St. George, spending countless hours redeeming the dead and gathering Israel from all parts of the world. She was a savior on Mount Zion for thousands of people and she will never die and neither will her legacy. Throughout her brave battle with lymphoma and later, myelodysplastic syndrome she embodied discipline, resilience, faith, strength and selfless love, characteristics she upheld her entire life. We thank the amazing staff and doctors at the Huntsman Cancer Institute who so lovingly cared for Darlene during this past year. A viewing will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m, on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 2228 S.1660 W. Syracuse, UT 84075. Thereafter, funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. followed by an interment at the Syracuse Utah Cemetery. Please wear a mask when indoors and not able to social distance.
