Dennis Leon Clark

Dennis Clark passed away peacefully from Lewy Body Dementia on December 6th, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Dennis was born on September 7th ,1949 at his grandmother's house in Ephraim Utah to his parents Thomas and Linda Clark. Growing up he and his family moved around a lot, ending up in Ephraim Utah and making that home. Dennis lived a life full of happiness, love, and service. He attended high school at Manti High and graduated in 1967. After falling in love with his soulmate and best friend, Diana Clark, they married in 1969 in Manti, UT and together they brought three children into this world and he was the best father and role model to each of them, even taking on the opportunity to raise his nephew Casey Smith as his own for 11 years. He served our country for 12 years in the Navy and worked another 36 years as an engineer for Northrup Grumman before retiring and spending his days on the golf course and supporting the Utah Jazz. Dennis was kind, generous, smart, and always willing and wanting to serve others. His sharp mind impressed his coworkers and fellow service members, and his kindness was apparent in all his interactions. He spent his life loving his family, his savior and was always leading by example- but did so without a need for praise or recognition in return. He served the people of Rose Park, Salt Lake City with his wife for three years through a service mission with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was able to brighten the lives of many with his friendship and love. Always the first to volunteer his time and resources to anyone in need and he did so with a smile on his face and chocolate covered raisins to share in his pocket. His love for the gospel touched the lives of those around him and his selflessness was something that everyone admired. He truly touched the lives of everyone he met. He leaves behind his children Tonya and Brent Hawkins, Jon and Jennifer Clark, Kimberli and Eric Turner, and Janet and Doug Thornton. His family meant everything to him, and he was always there to offer his love, advice, example, and support. He was the proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren and was blessed to also see his 9 great grandchildren come into this world. He was married to his beautiful wife for 54 years, only separated by death, and the love he shared with her was pure, patient, and true. They shared a lifetime of joy and loved each other through the good and the bad. They prayed together often, always supported each other, and showed their family an example of what love truly is. Dennis showed his love for his family daily by being the best example of a loving husband and devoted father, always putting them first and being a man they could depend on without doubt. His friendship extended to many, and he was always someone that could make you laugh and smile, even in tough times. Dennis will be missed by many, but lived his life in a way that will never be forgotten. He leaves behind his brothers Tom, Bob, and Randy and his sister Cherie and is preceded in death by his sisters Gloria and Cindy- along with his parents Thomas and Linda. To know Dennis was to feel loved by him, and his family and friends will forever be grateful for the man that he was and the impact he had. His life will be celebrated for years to come. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 9th starting with a viewing at 9:30am followed by a service at 11:30am. His celebration will be at 1208 W 12400 S Riverton, UT 84065 and all who loved him are welcome to join the family in honoring his meaningful life.
