Donna Kae Foust

Donna Kae Foust, 61, our beautiful, vibrant mother and wife passed away peacefully surrounded by love on December 5th, 2021 finally free, after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Donna was beautiful inside and out with a heart of gold. She always gave with no expectations or conditions. She was an avid reader from a young age and would read multiple books at a time. She could often be found curled up with a book and a mug of hot chocolate, reading for hours. Donna was creative and loved to craft things to sell or give away as Christmas gifts. She made Halloween costumes for her daughters when they were little and even handmade each daughter a doll one year. She was a self-proclaimed homebody, but enjoyed going on long motorcycle rides with her “honey” Jan and they had many great adventures on the open road together. She loved to play the penny slots in Wendover and to drive to Idaho for lottery tickets. Her favorite time of the year was fall and she loved driving up the Cottonwood Canyons or Butterfield Canyon to see the leaves, collecting the brightest ones she could find. Donna spent many precious moments with her granddaughters, Josie and Reese, having sleepovers, fashion shows, and building snowmen. She loved being a grandma so much. She was much more than could ever be written here. She was the grounding member of our family and her loss is deeply felt. She was a bright light in this world and we will miss her everyday. A special thank you to Donna’s daughter, Wendy Gregory, for the devoted love and care she provided to her mother 24/7, especially in the last nine months of Donna’s life. The task was not an easy one and she never wavered. The family would also like to thank Dr. Bryce Osborne, Dr. Jonathan Grant, Donna’s Home Health care team (especially Jin Kang), her hospice care team (Amber Hammond, Gretchen Skelly, and Melissa Nguyen), and the nurses and technicians who took extraordinary care of her while she was in their charge at Intermountain Medical Center. The family would also like to thank Dan and Patsy Foust, Mark and Karen Lindhardt, Aubrey Elieson, Mia Maradiaga, and their families for their constant and continued support. Donna is preceded in death by her mother, Carmen Steele, beloved aunt Mary Salcedo, and her oldest brother, Joey Sanchez. She is survived by her loving husband and soulmate, Jan Foust, her daughters Chérie (Preston) Lindhardt, Wendy Gregory, her granddaughters Josie and Reese, her stepchildren Levi (Allison) Foust, Whytne (Spencer) Hunsaker, her twin sister Dianna (Tim) Burbidge, sister Michelle Rios, brother David Rios, her baby sister Carmen (Cheno Maestas) Rios, her uncles Johnny Corcino, Frankie Sanchez, Georgi Sanchez, cousins Jaylynne Moyeda and Lisa (Maurice) Maurizi, as well as many more cousins, nieces, and nephews, and extended family members. In lieu of flowers and a service, the family asks that you please consider donating to any of the three organizations that were close to Donna’s heart: Planned Parenthood which provides health screenings for conditions such as cancer, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and Shriners Hospitals for Children.
