Ferron Mel Pearson

Ferron Mel Pearson, age 77, returned home to his parents, Heavenly and earthly, on April 11th, 2026 surrounded by family at his home in Sandy, Utah. Ferron was born on March 17th, 1949, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Berley and Roy Pearson. He married Charlotte Becky Ann Jensen on August 16, 1971 in the Salt Lake Temple. Ferron and Becky first lived in Boise, Idaho for nine years, before moving to Port Orchard, Washington. Four years later, they moved to Sandy, Utah, in 1983, where they lived until his passing. Ferron earned his Associate’s Degree in Business from Boise State University. He continued his education through insurance courses, furthering his education and career. Ferron worked as a claims adjuster for two different insurance companies and retired as a claims manager from Bear River Mutual Insurance Company in 2014. Ferron also served in the military for nearly 30 years, ending his career as a Master Sergeant in the Air National Guard. Ferron and Becky loved to travel, especially camping at the family property in Idaho and at Bryce Canyon. They loved riding ATVs with family and friends. Ferron loved to collect clocks, watches, and anything pertaining to bears and owls. Ferron served his Heavenly Father well in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served a mission in San Antonio, Texas in 1968 for two years. Other service included being a primary teacher, Sunday School President, Elders Quorum President and Ward Executive Secretary for Bishop George McNeil. Ferron was a very social man. He would get to know people everywhere he went. He was always talking to someone and thus made many lasting friendships. Ferron is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Charlotte Becky Ann Pearson, his brother Leon Pearson, his children, Brad Pearson, Kim Vance, Tim Pearson, and Hayley Pearson, eight grandchildren, and one great grandson. Ferron was preceded in death by his parents Berley and Roy Pearson as well as his two brothers, Myron and Eldon Pearson. The family would like to thank the hospice team at Auburn Crest, the members of the Savannah Ward, and Ferron’s work buddies from Bear River Mutual Insurance for all of their love, care, and support. Funeral services will be as follows: Evening viewing on April 21st 2026 at 7:00pm at the church on 10885 South Pampas Dr., Sandy Utah. The funeral service will then be held at the same location on April 22nd at 10:00am with a viewing preceding it at 9:00am. Following these services, he will be interred at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 11171 S 1700 W, Bluffdale, Utah.
