Gina Maria Ornelas

Gina Maria Ornelas, age 62, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 10, 2023, in West Jordan Utah. She was born September 8, 1960 in Wichita, Kansas to Donato and Guadelupe Ornelas. Gina has a beautiful soul. She loved life and enjoyed being surrounded by friends and loved ones. Her greatest joy was spending time with her son(Kage), finance(Whitney) and granddaughter(Klea). She was a marvelous grandmother and was blessed to have the opportunity to spend quality time with her grandbaby. She was a spectacular cook and specialized in many gourmet dishes. Gina loved to share her talents with all of her dear friends and family. Gina had a warm and contagious smile. Her dynamic personality often made her the life of the party. Gina was positive and courageous in spite of her many health challenges. Gina bravely battled and survived breast cancer. Her strength, faith and extraordinary love of her family is what motivated her to persevere through her trials. Gina was an incredible seamstress as well as designer. She found great joy and satisfaction in handcrafting her sons Halloween and stage costumes. Gina had an enormous heart and was kind and generous to all she met. She loved to dance, especially at her sons live musical performances. Gina was and will always be one of the sweetest and most thoughtful people you could ever have the pleasure of knowing. Gina is survived by her partner Brent Hughart, son Kage (Whitney), granddaughter Klea, siblings: Brenda McKellips (Larry), Nancy Carr (Michael), Tillie Dellaquila, Marjean Ornelas (Lalo), and Melissa Hayward (David). Preceded by parents, Donato and Guadelupe Ornelas. Siblings: Don, Marty, and Ron Ornelas. A viewing for the immediate family will be held on June 16, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home located at 13863 S 2700 W, Bluffdale, Utah A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday June 17th at 2126 W Lawrence Circle, South Jordan, 84095 from 4PM to 8PM.
