Idalu Ella Davis Haynes

On January 20, 2025 our Sweet Mother returned home. She was 97 years old and had lived a rich life. At the time of her passing she was at Stonehenge of Orem rehabilitating after receiving a new hip. The staff were very kind to her and they have our deep thanks. Idalu was born in Salmon Idaho on July 13, 1927. She was the youngest of six children born to Robert Ray Davis and Emma Vanelia Parsons Davis. She had three sisters who did not survive infancy and two brothers, Robert and Victor. Her early childhood was spent in Pocatello Idaho, Boulder Montana, and ending up in Great Falls Montana. When she was in eighth grade her family drew a homestead on the Ashlot Bench near Sims Montana. She went on to Graduate from Sims High School where she played Basketball. At the time they were only were only allowed to play half court because they were girls. After graduation she went to work in a grocery store in Great Falls. She met her husband Seth LeRoy Haynes in Great Falls and they were married on December 31, 1946. In 1953 they moved to Rupert, Idaho and farmed until she and Seth retired. They were snowbirds between Rupert and St George. After Seth passed away in 2007 she continued to go back and forth between her two homes for 10 years. In 2017 She came to live with her daughter and Son in law Mary Lou and Jeff Tiedeman in Orem. They have considered themselves lucky to have this time with her. Idalu is survived by her Children, Susan Hafen(Lowell), Tom Haynes(Susan), Mary Lou Tiedeman(Jeffrey), Terry Brown (Edward). She has 24 Grandchildren and 97 Great- Grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her husband Seth Haynes, her parents Emma and Robert Davis, her brothers Robert Jr and Victor Davis, a daughter and son in law Connie Livingston(John). Idalu’s Funeral will be held January 25 at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 60 East 1600 North in Orem. There will be a viewing at 10:00 AM that morning. Interment will be at the Rupert Idaho Cemetery. There will be a short Memorial Service held at the Rupert 3rd ward building at 526 S F Street on Monday January 27,2025 at 1:00 interment will follow The staff at Stonehedge were very kind to her and they have our deep thanks.
