John Russell Dahle

Russell was born in Logan, Utah November 3, 1951 to VaNon and Arlene Dahle He grew up in Clarkston, Utah enjoying the freedom of being able to roam the mountains and play with friends and family. He loved fishing, hunting and football. Each summer he went on many fishing trips with his father and learned to hunt with his oldest brother Dave and uncles Wayne and Arlen Dahle. Russell played football for SkyView all three years and graduated in 1969. He was offered scholarships to play football at several local colleges but decided on a different path for his life. He loved to work with his hands and be independent. This led him to an Associates degree from Utah Technical College and his lifelong career as a Journeyman Electrician. He always enjoyed the challenges of solving issues on the job and made the required math seem easy. His talents were often shared with numerous family members and friends, helping them fix a light or wire an entire house. In September 1972 Russell married Eveline Hennette Grossi, “Lilli”. They were later divorced, but to this union was born his brilliant son - Travis Russell. He loved being involved in all daily aspects of raising Travis from picking him up from school, reading his books, playing with Legos and Hot Wheels. He was so proud of Travis and took him to electrical jobs where he kept the many pictures drawn on invoices, receipts and envelopes. Later Travis became his young assistant and skilled electrician. Russell spent his adult life on the west side of Salt Lake optimistically waiting for the 90s Jazz to bring home the title and his monthly trips to Malad to find the winning five numbers. Russ we are still waiting. He also opened his home to a number of friends who needed help and was willing to be there for them. He was a kind and giving soul. Russell was preceded in death by his parents VaNon and Arlene and his oldest brother David. He is survived by his son Travis and his wife Elena, their children Seraphina and Lief. Grandson Tristan Dahle, sister Linda(Bill) Rose sister-in-law Jolene Dahle, brothers James(Rayna), Paul(Jill), and Dennis(Sheralyn). Russ is also survived by thirty-four nieces/nephews & dozens of their kids who he loved to see at the family Christmas Parties. A graveside service and Celebration of Life will be held at the Clarkston Cemetery May 31, 2025, at 11:00AM
