Kapiteni Folau Tuiaki

Kapiteni Folau Tuiaki, 77 years old, passed away peacefully on February 18th, 2024 in his humble home in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born to the late Sela Tuiaki and Kefu Ikamanu on December 3rd, 1947 in Olo’ua, Vava’u, Tonga. He came to America and married the love of his life, Sulieti Tuifua Tuiaki, and they had three beautiful children; Kapiteni Jr (Jacintha), Po’alo’i and Simote. He was blessed to also have a niece that was like a daughter to him, Amelia Tuiaki Tapueluelu (‘Etika). Kapiteni was blessed with a total of nine grandchildren; Divine Grace, Takavao, Po’alo’i Jr, Jaelan, Talafi, Naufahu, Finau, Pelenaise and Heiutuloko. Kapiteni was a loving and caring leader of his household and worked hard to provide for his family. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and made sure to instill the importance of family and church values to his wife and children. He never failed to make sure that his duties as a father, husband, uncle, brother, friend, grandpa, and church member were fulfilled. Although he has left us physically, we know that he is in the presence of our Lord. He will be missed greatly, by all who knew him. Kapiteni was preceded in death by his parents; his sister; Teu Ikamanu, and his brothers; Sione Ikamanu, Tevita Vaipulu Ikamanu and Sione Nuti Mafoa Ae Ata Ikamanu. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and his siblings: Manatu (Sepesi) Pousima, Mateaki (Sikaafi) Kolopeaua, Ma’ata (Makoni) Kite, Seini (Tu’uta) Tauheluhelu, Sela Ikamanu, Paea Ikamanu and Taniela (Meleane) Ikamanu , Sifila (Paula) Ta’ufo’ou and many nieces and nephews. Cultural traditional services (nofo’aki putu) will be held at the Tongan United Methodist Church 1553 W Crystal Ave, WVC UT 84119, Friday, March 1st 2024 12pm-9pm. Funeral services will be held at the Tongan United Methodist Church Saturday, March 2nd 2024 8am-1pm. Interment will be at the Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery (6500 S Redwood Rd, West Jordan UT 84123) at 1:30pm. We want to thank our Tuifua family and Heimuli/Maumau family for everything they have done for Kapiteni. We would also like to thank Renew Home Health and Hospice nurse, Tammy, and Kapiteni’s caretakers Kenia and Kyndra for the amazing care that they provided for Kapiteni for these past few years. Also, thank you to Pastor and the members of the Tongan United Methodist Church for their love and prayers for our family.
