Kathleen Hogan Smith May 15, 1939 – July 30, 2025 Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Kathleen Hogan Smith, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, at Mountain Point Medical Center, surrounded by the love and presence of her family. Kathy was born on May 15, 1939, to Lawrence McKinney Hogan and Eva Davies Hogan. She was raised in a loving home. Her siblings are Glenna Pauline Hogan Mors, Junior Hogan, Rulon Hogan, and Marvin Hogan, all of whom preceded her in death. She found joy in deep family roots and carried that devotion into every chapter of her life. Kathy was the devoted mother of three daughters: Diana Lynn Smith (our beloved Deedee, who preceded her in death), Robyn Lee Smith Macdonald (Marty), and Laura Suzanne Smith Jensen (Jerry). She was a steady and nurturing presence in their lives—a source of unconditional love, quiet strength, and unwavering support. Her greatest joy was her family, and she poured her heart into raising, teaching, and loving them. She leaves behind five grandchildren, whom she adored: Regan Lee Rudy Hatch (Chris), Zane Ammon Rudy, Whitney Laurel Smith McDonald (Chris), Hillary Kathleen Smith Merrill (Tanner), and Bridger Evan Jensen (Skyler), as well as 15 great-grandchildren who brought light and laughter to her later years. She lovingly became known to all as “GG”. Our beloved GG. Kathy was a lifelong and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She dedicated her life to serving others through various callings and quiet acts of love. Her testimony of the Savior was evident in the way she lived-gently, generously, and with deep devotion. She was especially passionate about family history and spent countless hours doing genealogy work alongside her sister Paula, honoring her ancestors and connecting generations. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome. She had a heart that noticed who needed kindness, and she never hesitated to offer it. Whether through a meal, a listening ear, or a place to stay, Kathy lived a life of constant service. She was quick to laugh, quick to forgive, and quick to love. The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Mountain Point Medical Center for their friendship, kindness, and compassionate care in her final days. GG’s legacy is one of love, faith, and service. She was a devoted disciple of Christ, a tireless servant, and the heart of her family. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories, a heritage of faith, and generations who rise up and call her blessed. We love you, Geeg . We carry you with us—always…. ‘Til we meet again!!! A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 21st from 6p-8p at the home of granddaughter, Whitney McDonald, 9701 Duggan Drive, Eagle Mountain, Utah 84005. GG will be interred at Bountiful City Cemetery at a private family service.
