Kent Ryan Jones

Kent Ryan Jones passed away on February 27, 2026 in Salt Lake City Utah. He was born February 4, 1936 in Kenilworth, Utah to Varro and Mary Jones. Kent married Karen Suzanne Burger on September 1, 1963. Kent grew up in a large family, the seventh of nine children and lived primarily in Salt Lake City. He worked in various professions during his life and eventually was the owner and president of a sporting goods manufacturing company of products that he invented and designed. He was a pilot of small aircraft and helicopters. Kent was an accomplished sportsman and athlete: archer, bowler, cyclist, skier, golfer. He excelled at every endeavor he put his hand to. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t engineer, build or fix. Kent loved to travel. He and Karen visited places all over the world together, often with their daughters Lisa and Robyn. They enjoyed traveling with friends as well. Kent loved to tell a good joke and to hear one too. He would laugh until his tears streamed down his face. He was a gentleman‘s gentleman and was able to handle people with ease. He loved babies and kids, and they loved him. Kent and Karen were married over 62 years. She was the love of his life. They were mates, best friends, and partners in everything. When his girls were little they had special Saturdays with Dad when Karen was working. He always knew secret places in the city. Around 1970, Kent began to study the Bible and became convinced that he had found the truth, so he dedicated his life to Jehovah God and was baptized in December 1971, joining Karen in pure worship. He was a loyal servant of Jehovah until his death. He loved teaching the Bible to people and helped many to gain a friendship with Jehovah. Kent and Karen opened their home for many occasions including their pool for the baptism of more than 350 new brothers and sisters. Kent was known for his kindness and generosity. He was always there if someone was in need, often giving anonymously and without fanfare.
