Kylee Marie Hillman

Kylee Marie Hillman was born December 6, 1990 in Provo, Utah to Keith and Wendi Hillman. She passed peacefully on August 18, 2020 surrounded by her devoted husband and loving family. Kylee grew up in Utah County, graduating from Mountain View High School in 2009. She earned a BA degree in English Literature with a minor in Philosophy at Utah Valley University in 2013. Her life-long zeal for learning knew no bounds. She loved nothing more than sharing animal facts with anyone and everyone. She remains undefeated in family debates, one of her favorite activities. Even as a baby, there was nothing to do but concede to all that intelligent and passionate babbling. With an incredible work ethic learned while working side by side with her dad in his outdoor retail shop, she continued on to a career in management with American Eagle Outfitters. Also at her daddy’s knee and along with her brothers, she developed a passion for the outdoors and together they enjoyed every activity it provides from camping, backpacking, climbing and canyoneering to scuba diving to snow sports. Kylee and her brothers forged an exceptional bond through countless family adventures and a childhood full of laughing and bantering, in equal parts taunting, torturing and fiercely protecting each other. Kylee found the love of her life and greatest champion, Kelly Crompton, in 2011 and they were blissfully wed on April 8, 2016. Her family settled into the back seat as the two of them became inseparable, finding absolute peace and comfort in each other. Together they shared a fairy-tale love story and a life filled with a love and passion for animals, the outdoors, traveling, literature and most of all each other. From beginning to end Kelly was at her side and her constant rock and hero. Those closely associated with Kylee have great appreciation for her undying loyalty and amazing ability to assume kind intent in every interaction. A talented and self-taught artist, she spent her last few years creating beautiful and meaningful art. Due to her engaging, friendly personality and lightning-quick wit she made fast friends and admirers everywhere she went. Kylee is survived by her husband Michael Kelly Crompton, her parents, Keith and Wendi Hillman, and her brothers, Nathan (Meckell) Hillman and Jesse (Amanda) Hillman. She also leaves behind her cherished nephew, Knox, and her beloved cuddle bunnies, King Richard the Lionheart and Henrietta the Transbunny. She is preceded in death by Grandad Norman and cousins Lizzie and Lucas. The family sends a heartfelt thank you to her devoted and caring extended family and close friends, and to the exceptional team of medical professionals who fought so valiantly with her through her three-and-a-half-year battle and so compassionately helped ease her through her passing.
