Leata Siaki

Leata Siaki, known lovingly as Lakz, or Lei, age 51 passed away peacefully at home with her loved ones in the early hours on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. Leata was born on August 3, 1973, in American Samoa. She leaves behind a legacy of her selfless acts, outgoing personality, and loving traits. Although she did not have children of her own, her nieces and nephews were like her own children. Leata was the oldest child out of all of her siblings. She lived in Leone, American Samoa until she was three years old. During that time her dad enlisted in the US Army which prompted them to move to Long Beach, CA. While in Long Beach her dad left for military duty so she ended up living with her mom and her grandparents (Fualemilo & Leano) until she was six years old. Her parents divorced, she then moved with her mom and sister Selina to Salt Lake City, Utah. Leata married her beloved husband Foe Siaki August 27, 1994. In November of 2003 she and her husband relocated to Tempe, AZ where they called home and enjoyed their 2 dogs, Sunny and Lucky. She enjoyed cooking and baking also watching her favorite sports team the San Francisco 49ers she was a die hard Niner fan. Bang Bang Niner Gang! She loved cooking (sometimes for large gatherings) and spending time with family and friends (who would usually end up becoming extended family to her). Many people would agree that the food she cooked was beyond delicious, especially her ribs, mac salad, panipopo with all the fixings, cakes, cinnamon rolls, etc... After living in Tempe, AZ for almost 20 years she and her husband relocated to Salt Lake City, Utah where she was able to make lasting memories with our family. She loved being aroud family, and enjoyed when family and friends would visit. Over the years she dealt with a host of health issues, but remained strong and determined all the way through. She loved helping people whenever she could, and would give whatever she had to those in need. Leata was preceded in death by her husband, Foe Siaki who passed on July 31, 2022, her mom, Lolina Fagatele who passed on October 17, 1994, her brother Vincent Fagatele who passed on January 3, 2000, her dad, Filipo Eneliko who passed on July 22, 2011 and her step-dad Tumama Fagatele who passed on December 22, 2016. She is survived by her siblings, Selina Fesili (Tanu Jr) Oriana, Zion & Ivalina-lei. Taiva Fagatele, Feuu Fagatele (Leilani) Faith, Nofo, Soane, Mone. Lolina Helg (Tim) Emelei, TJ, Baby Taiva, hosts of cousins, aunties, uncles, and friends. Leata Siaki will be missed dearly. A Going Home Celebration will be held September 13, 2024 from 10am-12pm at the LDS Chapel 6500 S Dixie Dr 3655 W West Jordan, 84084 Burial service will follow at the West Jordan Cemetery. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Serenity Funeral Home & Hunstman Cancer Institute and Hospice for the kindness and compassion that you and your staff provided to our family during the care of our beloved sister.
