LouAnn Lazenby Melton

On Tuesday March 9th, 2021 our sweet sister, aunt, and friend LouAnn Lazenby Melton passed away in Lehi, Utah, at the age of 50, due to advanced stage lung cancer. She was born October 21st, 1970 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Walter John Lazenby and Linda Rose Eschler. The third of four children and our middle sister, whom we all loved very much. She went to schools in Salt Lake City Utah: Franklin Elementary, Glendale Jr high school, and graduated from West High School. She married Todd Lee Melton Feb 12, 1994 in Salt Lake City UT, (later divorced). In February 1999, she had one pregnancy resulting in a little boy affectionately known as CJ (Cassidy James) and which ended in miscarriage. She loved CJ so very much. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and lived in Salt Lake City, Utah her whole life. She worked many different places like Regis, Amazon, The Salt Palace, LDS hospital, and most recently at the International Airport. An extremely hard worker, she worked 40 plus hours a week her whole life and was tenacious in being independent and taking care of herself. She often earned employee of the month awards and was complimented on her hard work. She went to technical school later in life for a medical coding degree and worked hard to finish that education. She loved being with family and watching her nieces and nephews grow. She loved being an Aunt and loved the grand nieces and grand nephews so very much. She loved holidays (especially Christmas), making others laugh, a good crock pot turkey roast with gravy, reading books, musicals (especially The Sound of Music), and lots of different music. She loved her friends and had a pure heart that truly wanted to help others. We will miss her terribly but know that we will be together in the eternities. We love you LouAnn and look forward to when we can be together again. LouAnn is survived by her brother Laun Lazenby (Draper, Utah), her sisters Rebecca (David) Crowther (Lehi, Utah) and Denice (John) Rojas (South Jordan, Utah) along with nephews/nieces Nathan (Jocelynn), Michael, Alyssa, Jared, Emily (Spencer), Rachael, and Martha-Linda and her grand nephew/nieces, Everett, Harrison, Ava, Ana, and Yesenia. She is preceded in death by her mother Linda, her father Walter, her little boy CJ, and many grandparents who were undoubtedly waiting to greet her when she graduated from this life. A viewing will be held Friday March 12, 2021 from 6-8 pm at Serenity Funeral Home, 13863 S 2700 W, Bluffdale, Utah. The funeral will be held Saturday March 13, 2021 with a visitation from 11-11:45 am and services at 12 pm noon at the LDS ward house located at 700 West 2600 North, Lehi, Utah 84043.
