In Loving Memory of Matthew Mark Fielding April 26, 1978 - July 24, 2025 Matthew Mark Fielding, a fearless soul with a heart of a warrior, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, after a courageous battle with stage 4 lung cancer. He was surrounded by the love and presence of his devoted family. Born on April 26, 1978 in Driggs, Idaho and was later adopted by Steven L. Fielding and Linda B Fielding who loved him deeply. Matt lived a life defined by passion, perseverance, and purpose. Matt spent his younger years growing up in Lewiston, Idaho. Being one heck of a busy boy, riding his BMX bike like a madman, breaking his arm and being straight-up adventurous on his 5 acre family farm. He was a 'pedal to the metal' kind of guy, never slowing down. From an early age, Matt showed the world he would walk to the beat of his own drum. At 17, he traveled to Samoa to complete a youth program that forever shaped his outlook on life. There, he developed the strength and mindset of a true champion; qualities that would guide him through every chapter of his journey. One of his lifelong goals was to return there one day. Shortly after returning from Samoa, Matt met Cassy Thomas. Together, they welcomed their twins, Shaydon and Shonessi, born fittingly on the Fourth of July, a symbol of the freedom and fire that Matt himself embodied. Matt and Cassy continued to share a long-lasting friendship that was built on a deep love and respect for one another. Later, Matt was blessed with two more daughters, Brooklynn and Jersee, who, along with all his children, remained the light of his life. In 2006, Matt met the love of his life, Brittney. From the moment their souls recognized one another, something rare and powerful began. They were not just husband and wife, they were twin flames, kindred spirits, destined companions. He was her king, and she was his queen. Theirs was no ordinary love; it was a deep, timeless bond written in the stars. Matt and Brittney both knew wholeheartedly and without question, that their love did not begin in this lifetime and would not end with it. It was a love that stretched across lifetimes, anchored in eternity. Undimmed by time, and untouched by death. Together, they built a life rich in adventure and devotion, blending their families with love, patience, and joy. Matt embraced Brittney's daughter, Rylee, as his own, just as she embraced his children as hers. Brittney was Matts home, his strength, his forever, and he was hers. Even in the quiet moments, their love was loud. Whether road tripping on a whim, camping under a blanket of stars, or simply sharing quiet moments at home, they cherished every heartbeat together. Their love was fierce, freeing, and unforgettable. A love that will echo through lifetimes. Matt spent the majority of his childhood in Cedar City, Utah and later graduated from Dixie State University with a bachelor's degree in business and finance. Driven, self-motivated, and endlessly curious, he excelled at everything he put his mind to. Matt had the 'Midas Touch". Whether skiing down a mountain or soaring across the water, doing the 75 mile enduro race at 46 years old, or becoming the captain of his 16ft Hobie Cat sailboat without any prior experience. Matt approached life with boldness and excitement. He was never afraid to try, never afraid to leap. His creativity found its way into music as well. Matt loved playing the piano and singing, filling his home and his heart with melody. More than anything, Matt treasured his role as a father and grandfather. His love for his children was boundless, and he poured his energy, heart, and humor into every moment with them. His legacy of strength, adventure, and unwavering love will live on through each of them. Matt is survived by his wife, Brittney Fielding; his children Shaydon (Kaytie), Shonessi (Westly), Rylee, Brooklynn, and Jersee; and his cherished grandchildren: Adilyn (8), Dottie (4), Jensen (4), Everleigh (2), and Jack Mathew the newest addition. He is also survived by his mother, Linda B Fielding; 7 brothers; 2 sisters, Terri, (Stephen), Lorin (Brenda), Gary (Brenda), Keith (Jeanne), Ken (Kris), Daryl (Karen), Eric (Shannon), Laurie, Jason (Janell) and many nieces and nephews who adored him. He is preceded in death by his father, Steven L. Fielding; his uncle, Mark Fielding; and his lifelong four-legged companions, Toby and Clyde. Matthew Mark Fielding lived with a fire that never dimmed, a laugh that lifted others, and a soul that dared to chase every horizon. He faced life and death with strength, grit and grace. His love for Brittney was not just for this world. It was the kind of love that defies time and space, a love that began long before this life and will carry on long after, eternal and unshakable.
