Norris Delwynn Ethington

Norris Delwynn Ethington age 70 peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father on February 26, 2021, with his loving eternal companion by his side. Delwynn was born in Tempe, Arizona to Norma Lucille Johnson and Edwin Allen Ethington Sr. on December 13, 1950. Delwynn married his high school sweetheart Jacklyn Sly to whom he married on December 4, 1970 for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Delwynn was a farmer for many years in his youth growing in strength and stature on his family farm in Homedale, Idaho. After graduating High School, Delwynn was awarded a scholarship to Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho for studies in Agricultural Sciences. Going to college he would say that he was a much better student after marrying Jackie. Delwynn’s chosen occupation was continuing farming as he ventured to provide for his family as a husband and father. Delwynn loved farming and realized he needed to find a new occupation then moving his family to Gunnison, Utah and then shortly later to Lehi, Utah. Delwynn was a professional truck driver making many friends and retiring after driving for 27 years. Delwynn is survived by his wife Jacklyn Sly Ethington and their six children Scot (Amanda) Ethington, Jeffrey (Rebecca) Ethington, Joseph Ethington, Lani (Richard) Hansen, Amy (Travis) Lewis and Celeste (Mark) Christiansen. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Allen and his sisters Donna and Neva. His surviving siblings are Glenna (Dale) Kay, LeRoyce (Cynthia) Ethington, Merlin (Susan) Ethington, Deon (Tonja) Ethington and Lynnette Ethington. Delwynn instilled a work ethic in his children and a love for family. Delwynn was gifted at many things and was a great teacher by example and in his wisdom. This extraordinarily caring and charismatic man brought joy to so many lives. Delwynn loved to share his testimony and love for the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The funeral services will be held at the Jordan Willow Stake Center 2161 W Grays Drive, Lehi, Utah at 11:00 AM Tuesday March 2. A viewing may be attended between 9:30-10:30 at the same location.
