Patsy Lorraine Gustin

Patsy Lorraine Gustin 6/17/1939-3/17/2022 Patsy Lorraine Gustin, age 82, passed away March 17, 2022 at her home in Taylorsville, Utah. She was born on June 17th, 1939 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Raymond Beaird and Lorraine Blann. Patsy grew up traveling with her brother Rex and parents through out the western United States as her father moved looking for work. She had a wonderful childhood and told fun stories such as winning a shetland pony at a movie preview and having her father put the horse in the rumble seat of their old car to take it home. She loved horses and grew up riding through the elds and farm roads that are now West Valley City. Patsy attended high school in Salt Lake City and graduated from Granite High School. She was outgoing and made friends easily. She was a Cheerleader at Granite and enjoyed being involved in school activities. Patsy loved music and had a beautiful voice. She sang in high school on the Eugene Jelesnik show and at many other local functions. Patsy met Robert H. Gustin at the Old M&M rollerskating rink on Redwood Road. They fell in love and were married in Memory Grove on May 21, 1960. Patsy’s single desire was to be a mother. She was blessed with two daughters, Joey Dawn and Lori Sue and was a loving caring mother. Patsy was a hard worker and talked her husband into a half acre lot in Taylorsville where she loved tending her yard and garden. She had many fruit trees and always planted tomatoes, zucchini, corn and whatever else she could come up with. She spent a lot of time canning and preserving the results of her gardening eorts. She loved giving gifts and would spend every Christmas making peanut brittle for every friend in the neighborhood and teacher at the local schools her daughters attended. Patsy started a hobby raising and training Westhighland White Terries shortly after marrying. The hobby turned into a big part of her life. She was a member of the American Kennel Club and participated in dog shows all around the west. Her dogs were heavily sought after by successful breeders around the world. Patsy is survived by her brother Rex Beaird. Daughter Joey Kennedy. Grandchildren Taran Hall, Austin Kennedy, Caden Kennedy, Maysen Wahlen, Tylar Wahlen, Alexia Wahlen and four great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 23, 11:00 am at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 W. 4100 S, West Vally City, Utah.
