Richard Jean Jameson Jr

Richard Jean Jameson, lovingly known as "Uncle Jamie" to many, passed away on December 23, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on July 8, 1950, in Los Angeles County, Southern California, Richard was the son of Richard Jean Jameson (Betty Jameson - stepmother) and Evelyn Beth Bates (Ross Hatch - stepfather). He was preceded in death by his parents, stepparents, his sister Colleen Beth Henry, and his beloved wife, Sue Davis Jameson. Richard is survived by his siblings Kathleen Anne Insalaco, David Loren Jameson, Mark Aaron Jameson and Clair Jameson. Although he did not have children of his own, Richard played a pivotal role in raising his nieces and nephews and even contributed to the foundation of his grandniece. Known for his generosity and steadfast love, he was also a cherished great-uncle and great-great-uncle to many. Richard proudly served in the United States Army for 15 years, during which he traveled the world and served in many roles, including three tours in Germany, one tour in Vietnam, and as a NATO guard for the U.S. Embassy in Turkey. His dedication to service was a hallmark of his life. After his military career, Richard became a master carpenter and electrician, working with various companies and honing his skills to perfection. His love of teaching and adventure led him to run a Junior Lifeguards and Learn to Surf camp for many years, inspiring countless young people. In his earlier years, he had a passion for motorcycles and driving anything with wheels, though in later life, he traded his keys for pursuits closer to his heart. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Richard found great joy in temple work, genealogy, and fulfilling his church callings. He was a compassionate caretaker of animals, always offering kindness to any creature that crossed his path. Richard spent much of his life in Southern California before moving to Lehi, Utah, where he and his wife Sue built their life together. He will be laid to rest alongside his eternal companion, Sue, in a testament to their enduring love. Richard Jean Jameson leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and deep connections with those who knew him. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering support will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
