Robert Anderson

After a beautiful 69 years of being a fantastic husband and daddy, Robert Lee Anderson (Bob) of Sandy, passed away peacefully at home on September 6th at the age of 92. Bob was born 4/14/1932 in Midvale, Utah. Bob attended Jordan High School. Upon graduation, he joined the NAVY where he completed the radar training and monitoring program, spending most of his service time aboard the USS Iowa. Following his return from the navy, he met his soul mate, LaVonne at a movie theater and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple several months later. Bob then embarked on a career at Hercules Aerospace, where he worked from 1956 until his retirement in 1986. During this time he also had a TV/VCR repair business. Bob found success as a business owner for the second time after his retirement from Hercules Aerospace. Bob and two business partners purchased a calibration company, where he worked until just recently. Bob was a very special person. He always helped others and was so kind and caring to everyone. He was incredibly devoted to his family and somehow made time to lend a hand to anyone in need. Bob was very hardworking and still promptly went to work until just three weeks before his passing. As a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bob was involved in his religious community, where he served as a temple worker for 4 years and has had many church callings throughout his life. Bob had many hobbies including golfing, hunting, fishing, pool, card games, ping pong and anything else that involved spending time with family and friends. He loved to watch the Utah Jazz games and enjoyed a good wrestling match here and there. Bob is survived by LaVonne (wife) and his children Vic Anderson (Josette), Kris Brklacich (Cory), Ted Anderson, Holly Anderson, Wendie Anderson, Rosie Anderson and Rob Anderson as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by two daughters, Cyndi Thiede and Julie Lynn Anderson and most recently, his son Bill Anderson. The family wishes to thank Rose from Aspire Home Health and Hospice for her loving and supportive care in the last week of Bob's life. The family has entrusted Serenity Funeral Home with the arrangements. Bob's life and legacy will be honored in a private family remembrance. Words cannot begin to express how much he was loved and will be missed. Rest well sweet Pappy, until we all meet again.
