Sione Laukau Folaumahina

Sione Laukau Folaumahina, 59, passed away on June 7, 2014, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on February 6, 1955, in Ha’akame, Tongatapu to Mele Folauoseni Ita’aehau and Hekesi Laukau Folaumahina. He is married to Siutu Epenisa Folaumahina. They were married in Ha’akame, Tongatapu on May 23, 1979. He grew up in Ha’akame, Tongatapu with six sisters and two brothers: total of nine siblings. When he turned eighteen, he served a faithful mission as Elder Laukau, of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for two years in Vavau, Tonga. From 1974 – 1976, he served as a construction worker who helped to build Saineha High School. Sione and his wife, Siutu, later moved to American Samoa where he served as a second counselor of the bishopric of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In 1993, Sione Laukau Folaumahina and his family moved to Hawaii, where they settled. Sione Laukau is survived by his wife Siutu Epenisa Folaumahina and his children: Malia Lealofa Folaumahina (daughter), Sofia Laukau Siale Folaumahina (daughter), Siutu Ofaloto Folaumahina (daughter), Lutua Folaumahina (son), Skylawn Folaumahina (son), Polohiva Finau Folaumahina (daughter), Emeli Laukau Folaumahina-Manupule (daughter), Hekesi Laukau Folaumahina (son), Hepeti Vaka Folaumahina (son), and Mele Folauoseni Laukau Folaumahina-Kongaika (daughter). Preceded in death by: Paeahelotu Laukau Folaumahina, sister of Sione Laukau, who passed away in 1950 at the age of one. Mele Folauoseni Folaumahina, mother of Sione Laukau, who passed away in 1977 at the age of 54. Valentino Laukau Folaumahina, the brother of Sione Laukau, who passed away in 1992 at the age of 38. Hekesi Laukau Folaumahina, the father of Sione Laukau, who passed away in 2004 at the age of 82. Emeli Langi, the sister of Sione Laukau, who passed away in 2005 at the age of 59. Ikatonga Eliesa, the sister of Sione Laukau, who passed away in 2005 at the age of 57. Rennie Laukau, the brother of Sione Laukau, who passed away in 2013 at the age of 46. Hepeti Vaka Folaumahina, the son of Sione Laukau, who passed away in 2013 at the age of 28. Service Information: First viewing will be held at the Riverside Tongan LDS Chapel located at 700 N Redwood Road on June 15, 2014 from 6:00pm – 10:00pm. The second viewing will be held on June 16, 2014 at 8:00am to 10:30 am. Followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment will be held at Valley View Cemetery, in West Valley City.
