Vaioleti Isabella Malungahu, 20, passed away October 24, 2014 in American Fork UT. Vaioleti was born January 4, 1994 in Nuku'alofa Tonga. Vai came to the USA when she was 5 years old. Vai attended Lehi High School where she had many friends. Vai loved her family, friends, and traveling. Most important to Vai was family. Thanks to many friends and loved ones she was able to travel back to the islands and see her family that she left behind as her final wish. Vai was diagnosed with acute cardiomyapathy when she was 9 years old. Shortly before her 10th birthday she was blessed with the gift of life and was able to receive a new heart. We were blessed through an organ donation and a wonderful selfless family. Because of their selfless charity we were able to have Vai here with us for another ten years. Vai had so many struggles in her life but never complained or let them hold her back. Vai lived her life to the fullest, loving, caring, and serving those around her. Vai, we will miss your smile and your laughter everyday! Vai is survived by: Her parents Taylor and Jessica Malungahu; Her sisters Makaila and Audrey Senitila (Tila); Her brothers Komiti Latu, Sosefo and Samuela Malungahu, Maikeli Moeakiola, Tasi, McKay, Fisilaumali (Isaac); Her grandparents Byron and Shauna Goodwin, Meme and Semisi Malungahu; Her Aunts and Uncles Tu'utanga (Werner) Gehle, Suliana Malungahu, Alani (Lupe) Malungahu, Sione Malungahu, Fiapo Malungahu, Villiami (Sini Huakau) Malungahu, Lars (Mary) Malungahu, Aho (Sonia) Malungahu, Emily (Scott) Judd, Andria Goodwin, Shawn (Britney) Goodwin, Ryan (Megan) Goodwin and Devin (Samentha) Goodwin. Each of you held a special place in her heart. Lastly the matriarch of our family Vai's great-grandmother Selai To'a Malungahu. Vai was proceeded in death by great-grandfather and patriarch Fua Nuinuiava (Ma'u) Malungahu. The family would like to thank her medical team at Primary Children's Hospital, Dr. Melanie Everitt, and the whole cardiac transplant team for their care over the years along with the Intermountain Hospice. Viewing Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Serenity Funeral Home 12278 S Lone Peak Pkwy Draper Utah from 6-8:30pm. Services for Vai will be held Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the LDS Chapel on 358 Aspen Hills Blvd., Saratoga Springs, Ut. 84045. Family viewing will be 10-11am with public viewing from 11-12:30 and funeral services at 1pm. Burial services will begin immediately afterwards at the Lehi cemetery.
