Alice Jane Evans Redd passed away at the age of 75 on April 1, 2022, in Pleasant Grove, Utah, surrounded by family who so dearly loved her. Alice was born in Lander, Wyoming to Thelma Alice Davis and Evan Kendall Evans. She spent her childhood on a farm in Wyoming where she enjoyed family, farm animals, camping in the Wyoming mountains, and raved about the prize winning flowers her father grew. She learned service, compassion, and a love for people through observing her Mother’s work as a nurse, and her Father’s interactions with others as an insurance agent. As a single mother of two children, Alice provided strong support for her children Bryan, and Sharlynn. She was surrounded with supportive family and friends who strengthened her efforts as a single mom while living in Springville and Provo Utah. She worked as a receptionist in several medical clinics in the area. Their life was greatly blessed when she met and later married Craig Allan Redd. The family was sealed together in the Manti Utah Temple on February 17, 1979. Craig and Alice moved to Blanding, Utah where they were later blessed with the births of Scott and Alison to complete the Redd family. Alice enjoyed providing fun experiences for her family. She wanted her family to be inspired, and supported her children, and grandchildren in their many dreams and activities. After her husband's passing, Alice eventually moved to the Holiday area in Salt Lake City, where she fulfilled a dream as a talented soprano singing in the Choral Arts Society of Utah, and enjoying all the cultural opportunities that life in that area offered. One of the highlights of living in a big city was the ample shopping opportunities! Alice never met a good deal she didn’t take! Shopping was one of her hobbies and she made many friends at places she frequented. In the later years she served the elderly as an activities coordinator at an assisted living home. Her great love for the elderly showed in the work she chose to do as well as the service she was constantly performing for those around her. Her love for the gospel was evident in every stage of her life… she loved the hymns, and serving in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. She served for a time at the MTC in Provo helping new missionaries as they arrived. Alice served as Relief Society President, in the Stake Primary, choir member, young women’s, primary teacher and the calling of the compassionate service leader which allowed her to use her strengths and talents best. Alice had an independent spirit that enabled her to face challenges. Those challenges allowed her to show true empathy to others, a gift that brought a real connection to her relationships. Her love of dogs and Dr. Pepper was surpassed only by her fierce loyalty to her children. Alice loved family dinners and cherished holidays when the family was all together. Alice is survived by her four children: Bryan Redd (Annette), Sharlynn Redd Dunyon (Jeffry), Scott Redd (Natalie), and Alison Redd Pike (Mark), She has been blessed with 19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren...with 2 more great-grandchildren on the way! Surviving Sisters: Ann Evans Pierce (Dan) and Norma Zay Evans Schell (Jim). She was preceded in death by her husband, Craig Allan Redd, grandson Jeffry ‘Cade’ Dunyon, parents, step brothers and several in-laws. A Public Viewing will be held Monday, April 4, 2022 from 6-8pm at the Chapel on 4679 W. 11000 Highland, Utah Internment will take place at the Blanding City Cemetery on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 3:30pm The Redd Family would like to thank the Welcome Home Assisted Living Center and Suncrest Hospice employees for their diligent, kind, and loving care over the last two months of her life.
