As the oldest child in her family and the daughter of a Soldier, Ashley had the opportunity to meet and touch the lives of so many people around the world. She was able to experience so much in her short life. Ashley had her first passport when she was five days old and loved the adventure of traveling from that time on. She visited so many places in this beautiful world. It was her biggest commitment and her source for friends and belonging. She became the saxophone section leader and always took care of those she led. During high school, Ashley was a member of the National Honor Society, the Civil Air Patrol, the drama club, and the school newspaper. For summer fun and work, Ashley was a lifeguard on Fort Rucker, Alabama. Ashley loved to write. She excelled at writing and editing. Ashley shared these talents writing for the school paper and helping her friends with papers and homework. As a teenager, Ashley did a lot of service through her church- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She helped in making blankets for people in need, put together hygiene kits, and while serving as a youth leader made sure others were always included. Ashley graduated from high school in May of 2012. She was Valedictorian of her senior class and graduated with multiple scholarships. Ashley attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah. Ashley and Jonny were best friends and their joy was to be together as much as possible. They added joy to their life when they adopted Ashley’s second-best friend Zero, an incredible dog. Zero was Ashley’s constant and inseparable companion while Jonny was at work and brought incredible joy into both their lives. Zero misses her terribly. Ashley was a self-proclaimed nerd. She loved digital games, board games and excelled at Magic the Gathering. The more complicated the game rules and details, the more she loved it. Ashley was incredibly creative and loved to craft. She came up with amazing new ideas and inventions that she was so excited about and wanted to share with the world. Her creativity was reflected in her craft activities like knitting (which she frequently did for others), Perler bead creations, and especially in her story writing. Ashley loved beautiful things and the beauty of this world. Ashley was beyond patriotic. She loved her country and its flag and everything it stands for. She was so proud of her father being a member of the military and she wore the title of military BRAT with pride. She loved her Heavenly Father and her Savior so much. Ashley’s greatest joys were to be with her husband, her dog, her parents, her brother and sister, and Jonny’s family. Ashley was never shy about telling those she loved that she “loved them so much”.
