March 15, 1936 - October 21, 2018
Bonnie La June Harman De Haan 1936 – 2018 On October 21, 2018, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, age 82, passed away peacefully in her South Jordan home surrounded by family following many years of health challenges. She endured these many challenges with courage, grace, dignity, and a positive attitude, never complaining or feeling sorry for herself. She was always much more concerned about others than about herself. Bonnie Harman De Haan was born March 15, 1936, to Leonard Harman and Lucy Rawson. She was raised along with her 7 siblings in Granger, Utah. After graduating from high school, she attended BYU, then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Northern California. It was during her mission that she met the love of her life R. Brian DeHaan. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 8, 1962. During their married life, Brian and Bonnie lived in Utah, California, Colorado, and then back to Utah in 1973. They have lived in South Jordan for the past 35 years. Bonnie made her family her career—loving, teaching, and providing an example of faith and righteousness to her 4 children, 29 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. She also served throughout her life in many capacities in The Church and ministered to thousands through her selfless acts of love and service. She most recently loved to serve as scribe to Brian who is a Patriarch. Bonnie is survived by her husband of 56 years R. Brian De Haan, children Tammy (Rex) Cook, Kathy (Kelly) White, Robert De Haan, and Debby (Steve) Peterson, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings: Cliff (Betty Ann) Harman, Stephen (Marianne) Harman, Joseph (Annette) Harman. She is preceded in death by her parents, one grandchild Danny White, siblings Cleo Evans, Leonard Harman, Jean Bready, and Beverly Harman. A viewing will be held on Thursday October 25, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 pm and again on Friday, October 26, 2018, from 9:00-10:30 am at the South Jordan Utah Highland Stake Center on 10227 South 4000 West, South Jordan UT 84095. Funeral Services will be held at this same location on Friday, October 26, 2018, at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Wasatch Lawn South Valley located at 13001 S. 3600 W, Riverton, Utah.
