Bruce Burton Baugh

July 16, 1943 - November 9, 2021

Bruce Burton Baugh passed peacefully with his family at his side on November 9, 2021. He was born July 16, 1943 in Logan Utah to Joseph and Ardella Baugh. Bruce married Deanna Cox on June 7, 1973 in Roy, Utah. They have two children, Dustin and Jennifer Baugh. Bruce grew up the fourth son of five in Logan. Utah. He attended Logan High School, Utah State University, University of Utah and attained an associate degree in engineering. He also served in the Army National Guard. He worked most of his life for Albertsons and then Fresh Market Foods. After a solo trip through Europe enjoying the beautiful outdoors, he realized his home state contained as much or more natural beauty and decided to experience it. Throughout his life he shared this love of the natural world with his family, first in Logan and the mountains surrounding it and later throughout Utah and the surrounding country. If he could get there and back in the weekend and there was a place to set up a tent, he’d be sure to explore it. Later in life the family was also able to enjoy seeing more of the US and the rest of the world. He met Deanna while working in Logan while she was attending Utah State University, later moving to Salt Lake following Bruce’s job in the grocery business. Dustin and Jennifer were born in Salt Lake City and the family carried on their love of backpacking and camping in the outdoors, traveling across the US to experience it’s wonders together. Bruce taught his family honesty and kindness by the way he lived. Even in retirement Bruce remained active. At home Bruce loved gardening, and following his father’s footsteps loved growing new potatoes for the family. He also enjoyed planting and keeping is home beautiful. After retirement Bruce became interested in TV cooking shows and he was soon the primary chef in the house cooking both gourmet and soul food meals. Bruce is survived by his wife and two children. He is also survived by brothers, sisters-in-law, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is loved by both his family and his wife’s family. Due to current conditions, we will be holding a celebration of life in the Spring so that we can enjoy the outdoors that Bruce so enjoyed. A trust has been set up, Bruce B Baugh Memorial, and the family respectfully requests that any donations be made to it through America First Credit Union to assist in the end of life care that helped him so much.
