Carol Lynn Bennett

Carol Lynn Bennett, 67, passed away surrounded by loved ones on January 21, 2024. Carol Lynn was born in San Diego, California on March 30, 1956. She was the 8th of 15 children, born to Edwin and Maria Higgins. Her family then moved to Tucson, Arizona where Carol grew up in a large and spirited family. Carol had her only son, Damon, in 1974. Carol and Damon then moved to Salt Lake City in 1983, where Carol met Brent Bennett. Carol and Brett were married in 2003. Carol lived out the rest of her days having amazing adventures; camping, fishing, and mostly spending time with friends and family. Born the true middle child, Carol was spirited and had a love of adventure, she was the self-proclaimed “black sheep” of the family. She had a wild youth but never neglected to help take care of her brothers and sisters. She was always the care-giver and had a way of making people feel good about themselves. Carol remained a steadfast friend and confidant to everyone she knew. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do or give to someone she considered her friend or family, and she saw friends and family as the same thing. She was never afraid to give it to you straight, whether you wanted to hear it or not. She had an amazing sense of humor and a contagious laugh. She would send random funny texts and jokes to you at any time of the day. On top of all that, she was a great listener. She loved to talk and laugh with people and will be truly missed by all the lives she has touched. Carol is preceded in death by her Father (Daddy) Edwin James Higgins Jr.; brothers, John Henry Higgins, James Dale Higgins and Albert Keith Higgins; and her sister Gloria Jean Higgins. She will be terribly missed by all that are left behind: her husband Brent Bennett, and her son Damon Higgins, who she loved very much; her Grandsons, Braden Franks and Dillion Gay; her mother, Maria Higgins (Mama); and her many siblings: Luisa Hudon (Gus), Marta Dones, Nina Leming, Charlie Higgins, JoAnn Johnson (Eric), Ruben Higgins (Carol), Vonee Morales (Dominic), Christie Higgins, Jane Higgins, and Robert Higgins; her many, many nieces and nephews, cousins and more cousins; and the countless friends that she considered family. She loved you all so very much. Look not for me in the sky, but find me in the beauty of nature and the love of a friend.
