Clyde Everett Weeks, Jr

Clyde Everett Weeks, Jr., 90 of Orem, Utah, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully on March 9th, 2016. He was born on November 18th 1925 in Manilla, The Philippine Islands, to Clyde Everett Weeks and Bertha Marguerite Larsen. He grew up at Fort Douglas in Salt Lake City and later in Utah County. He married his lifetime sweetheart, Helen Bunnell Weeks on April 24th, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. He is survived by his wife, Helen, and his children Melody Penrod (Dale), Skip Weeks (Jan), Merrie Hudson (Randy), Skylar Weeks (BJ), Marchelle Nichols (Blaine), Richard Weeks, Rosanna Weeks, Alyson Howell (Martin), and David Weeks (Liz) and his brother Michael Weeks (Donna). Clyde served in the Marine Corps during World War II and received the Purple Heart for his heroic service in the Pacific. He served as the managing editor of the Orem Geneva Times newspaper. He also served as the postmaster of Orem for over forty years. He served as president of the Orem Chamber of Commerce, Orem Kiwanis Club, Orem Boosters and SCERA board of directors. He was a prolific poet, musician and author. He loved his community of Orem. He enjoyed playing the violin for groups throughout Utah. He served as Bishop in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved the Lord and his family. We celebrate him and his over ninety years of life, love, service and sacrifice. Clyde is an ideal example of manhood, fatherhood, loyalty and friendship. We love you Dad, husband, Grandpa, brother and friend. Funeral services and viewing will be held on Friday March 18th, 2016 at the Sharon Park 2nd Ward Chapel, 225 East 200 North, Orem, Utah. A public viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Orem City Cemetery.
