August 11, 1989 - September 2, 2015
Darcy Taylor passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in the home she loved surrounded by her family and friends. After an intense and courageous battle with cancer, our Sunny D is no longer in pain and has returned to her Heavenly Father. Darcy was born in Murray, Utah on August 11, 1989 to Sherman and Aleta Taylor. She had a happy childhood growing up in South Jordan, Utah with her six siblings and often spoke of it as an adult. She was a Jordan High Beet Digger who enjoyed the outdoors, swimming, and volleyball. Darcy served an LDS mission in the Charlotte North Carolina Mission from September 2011 to April 2013 where she found cherished relationships and countless memories. Darcy was a missionary at heart and wanted everyone around her to feel the Savior's love. Her testimony of Jesus Christ was a big part of who she was. This seemed to be her calling in life even after she returned home from her mission. She had an abiding faith that helped her through her challenges. Darcy worked as a professional nanny for many families, whom she considered family. She loved the innocence and wonder of small children. She had a special energy for engaging the children in her life and helping them to learn. In many ways, Darcy was still a child herself. She had a big heart and a wonder for God's simple creations. She loved the sunshine, loved to laugh, and above all else spending time with her family and friends. During her last months, she often expressed how glad she was to be in the home where she had so many happy memories. Although the end of Darcy's life came too quickly for the rest of us and without much warning, her Heavenly Father saw fit to take her home. Those she leaves behind are grateful she no longer suffers and we know we will see her again. Darcy trusted in the Lord and his timing and her heart and mind were at peace long before her body was. Darcy's big, bold, and beautiful personality will be truly missed in our lives. Darcy is no doubt rejoicing with loved ones and several close friends who have gone before including her dear friend and grandmother Margaret Tillotson Andersen. She is survived by her parents Sherman Clissold Taylor and Aleta Andersen Taylor, her siblings, Ashlie Easterling (Jonathan), Reagan Taylor (Kristen), Trevor Taylor (Sarah), Tricell Caywood (Garret), Spencer Taylor (Bailey), and Ariel Palmer (Taylor). She is also survived by ten nieces and nephews who will grow up with loving stories of their sweet and wonderful Aunt Darcy. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2015 at the Riverview 3rd LDS chapel on 11400 South 700 West, South Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held from 10 to 10:45 am with the funeral beginning at 11:00 am. Funeral services are provided by Serenity Funeral Home in Draper, Utah.
