Elwin Joseph Crossman Jr. October 5, 1923-July 18, 2014 Elwin was born to Elwin Joseph Crossman Sr. and Elizabeth BuNell (Brown) Crossman in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is survived by his three sons, Thomas Elwin (Kathy), Ronald Joseph (Ronda), and Edward Lee, and two sisters, Norma Hillman and Donna Carver, as well as nine grandchildren, Betsy Squires, Rebecca Hagen, Robert, Richard, Randall, Ryan, Raquel, Gabriella, and Gideon Crossman, and 16 great-grandchildren. Elwin graduated from Boise High School after serving five years in the South Pacific during World War II and then attended Boise Junior College, where he played basketball and football and earned his Associates Degree in Chemical Engineering. During World War II, he was a member of *** squadron of the United States Air Corps and attained the rank of Master Sergeant. He enjoyed being the sales rep for several national shoe lines in the Pacific Northwest for 25 years before settling in Tacoma, Washington, where he managed Gordon Shoeland chain of stores for 20 years. Elwin was a member of the LDS church and served as a temple worker in the Seattle Temple from 1994-2000. Besides being with his family, he loved fly-fishing in the rivers of Montana and Idaho. He also enjoyed playing golf with his sons and grandsons, and got his first hole-in-one in 1996 at the age of 73 at which point he was already partially blind.
