Our beloved and loving Father, Husband, Brother and Grandpa passed away peacefully in Provo, Utah surrounded by Family and loved one’s on October 3rd, 2017. He was born on September 19, 1957 in Mataika, Vava’u, Tonga to Viliami Peluafa Fevanga of Mataika, Vava’u, Tonga and Mele Tasia Fonua of Neiafu, Vava’u, Tonga. At the age of seven His Father passed away, then was raised by ‘Anaseini ‘Ita’aehau of Ha’akame, Tonga and Lanitalo Latu of Mataika, Vava’u, Tonga. He was raised in Ha’akame, Tonga and later the Family moved to Kahoua, Tonga. He was married to Our Mother, Tapaita Halakotone Tonga in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days Saints, Salt Lake City, Utah Temple on January 16, 1982 and recently re-married to Ma’ata Afu-Tausinga on June 20th, 2017. He has three children: ‘Eniketi Osolua Fevanga Junior, Nukumovaha’i ‘O Kahoua Fevanga and Ana Vasaliva Fevanga. One grandson: Saione Mulitalo Fevanga and ten siblings: Polokava Fevanga (deceased), Pita Hiva Fevanga, ‘Isileli Maluloa Latu (deceased), Evona Latu, Polotani Latu, Peni Kula Latu, Tasia Latu Malafu, Nanise Latu Takitaki and Sione Latu. Most of Our Father’s childhood days growing up was in Ha’akame. His many stories of growing up in the islands are memories We will never forget. He attended GPS Ha’alalo, Ha’akame LDS Middle School and then to Liahona High School where He graduated in 1977. Following graduation He was called to serve a LDS Mission in The Nuku’alofa, Tonga Mission from 1977-1979. Nearing His two years service He received a signed letter from President Spencer W. Kimball to extend His service for another two years and serve in The Honolulu, Hawaii Mission from 1979-1981. Dad would always talk about His Mission and would always say “I served in the best mission in the World”. Our Father loved to serve others especially to serve the Lord. He loved the Gospel and its teachings, He loved to read the Scriptures and loved quoting them. Dad enjoyed writing in His journal. Growing up We would always see Dad writing in His journals, He never missed a day. Our Father was a Man of faith and hard work. A very quiet Man, head down, get work done, keep Family ties close together and always be respectful. Besides listening to Tongan music in His collections of old cassette tapes, “Gone Fishing” was Dad’s favorite thing to do. He loved and would always look forward to take His Grandson Saione with Him every chance they had. Saione will miss His fishing partner and best friend who was so proud to be Grandpa or better known as “Papa Bear” (Papa Oso). Dad was a true example of “actions speak louder than words”. He not only told Us how to live but through His teachings and action would show Us how to live. Dads contagious sense of humor was always uplifting no matter what the occasion. We owe more than We could ever repay to Our Father. His positive attitude would always lift Us out of tough situations numerous of times and was always there for Us no matter what. One of Dads many proudest and successful moments was when His oldest child graduated from BYU. He never had much, worked normal jobs and would never complain about anything yet understood the joys and importance of lifting others up, making them smile and leaving people feeling better than they were before. Dad was always there for Us and always wanted Us to be successful in all that We do, Our success was His success. Dad gave Us the greatest gift anyone could ever give...He believed in Us. We will never forget Your teachings, sacrifices and Your true unconditional love. Until We meet again, Ofa Lahi Atu Dad!!! Viewing and Funeral Services will be held on the same day, Friday October 13, 2017 in the Orem 8th Ward (Tongan) at 150 East 600 North Orem, Utah. 84057 Viewing: 8:00am-12:00pm noon; Funeral Service 12:30pm-1:30pm. Interment will be at Valley View Memorial Park at 4335 West 4100 South West Valley City, Utah. 84120
