Franklyn Albert Nickle Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Franklyn Albert Nickle “Pop” Our loving Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather. Passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday October 30th at his home in Sandy, Utah. Frank was born in Grand Junction, Colorado on October 25th, 1933 to Orville Kenneth Nickle and Lorna Audrey Jarman. He married his sweetheart, Janet Kaye Hughes, on June 26th 1953 in Crescent Utah, Avalon Ballroom. On December 23rd 1976 he took his family to the LDS Provo Temple to be sealed for time and all eternity. They have four children, Debbie Vigos, Jody (Ladd Timpson), Frank Jr. “Bud” (Cheri) Nickle, and Shelly (Peni) Malohifo’ou. He was a proud beet digger. Graduate of Jordan High School in Sandy Utah. He worked as an engineer at the phone company for 35 years. He served an honorable LDS mission with his wife In the Nuku’alofa Tongan mission. He so loved the Tongan people. In his free time, he loved being with his family going on vacations. Camping, fishing, (with his cub). Snow skiing in the winter and water skiing in the summer. He was so talented. He could build or fix anything…He was our family fix it man. He built many homes in his lifetime, most of which he lived in. He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Vigos, Son in law Ladd Timpson, Son, Frank Jr. (Bud) Cheri Nickle. Daughter, Shelly Malohifo’ou, 14 grandchildren and 28 great grand children. He is preceded in death by his wife Janet, Daughter Jody Timpson, daughter in law, Colleen Nickle and Son in law Peni Malohifo’ou. Frank and Janet treasured many years as snowbirds in Yuma, Arizona. They hosted many breakfast for their community and loved entertaining family and friends while making memories in the Sunshine state. We would like to give a special thanks to his hospice team for their professional, loving, and kind care they gave to our father. His nurse Bridgette and Susi. His Social working Gretchen. We would also like to thank Serenity Funeral Home for always being there for us in our time of need Services will be held on Saturday November 6th, 2021 at Serenity Funeral Home, 13863 S. 2700 W., Bluffdale, Utah. Viewing 11:00 - 12:00 pm, followed by Graveside Service at Mountain View Cemetery, 3115 E. Bengal Blvd., Cottonwood Heights, Utah. 12:30 - 1:30. Please join us for a luncheon at Fair Oaks Ward Chapel located at 615 East 8400 South, Sandy, Utah.
