Gregg B. Kelsch

Gregg B. Kelsch born in Murray, Utah to Eleanor Bateman and Louis Alma Kelsch on September 28, 1950. He met his future wife Roxanne, while attending Murray High School in the mid 60’s which was a fitting decade for the ultimate hippy. He would later raise 7 kids in a “little pink house” on 4700 South in West Valley City, Utah. Gregg B. Kelsch is survived by his siblings Lynn B. Kelsch, Nancy Boss, Tani Boss and Michael B. Kelsch. His children; Donovan Kelsch and Mary Roe, Robyn and Jeremy Castro, Justin and Jennifer Kelsch, Jennifer and Eddie Egbert, Brandy and Travis Kennedy, Brooke Elkins and Toni and Jose Veloz – plus his grandchildren who he loved. Gregg was never shy about loving everyone he met. “I love you” was a phrase that came easy for him, especially for a man as macho as they come. He loved “the Duke”, America and Family, probably in reverse order. At six foot four inches, Gregg was a large man with a massive heart and he always wanted a hug. “Come give me a squeeze”, “Give me a love”, “I love you”… easily rolled of his tongue. This was a man with a very complicated history. 70 years, 7 kids, 24 grand kids, 8 great grandchildren, and hundreds of friends, relatives and supporters. He was a sweet talker, gem lover and wood worker. What everyone else saw as raw wood, Gregg would see as a Bear, Elk, Deer, Wolf or Moose. He was an incredibly talented artist who saw the detail in animals and in people. In his prime Gregg loved to hunt, fish and spend time at the Gorge with his family. But as soon as his grandchildren came along, he would spend his leisure time taking them on nature adventures around the block, treacherous I know – but they all loved their time with their Poppy. “Poppy, lets go on a venture”, “take me for a walk Poppy.” His happiest times were when the entire family gathered to love and laugh. Gregg will be memorialized with an outdoor service at Elysian Burial Gardens at 1075 East 4580 South, in Salt Lake City Utah on Monday November 16th. The viewing will be from 10:30am to 12:00pm. Memorial service from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. If you plan on attending the service, the State of Utah and Elysian Gardens mandates social distance and facemasks or coverings.
