Funeral Service Link https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88664063297 ENGLISH - Gustavo Rodriguez Diaz passed away on July 13, 2020 at the age of 67, due to complications from COVID-19 in Mexico City. He was born on February 18, 1953 in the same city. His parents were Jose Rodriguez and Sarah Diaz. He was the third of 11 children, being the fourth of them to return to their heavenly home. He is survived by his eternal companion Tere, his children: Gustavo, Lehi (Missy), Ivan and Jesica; and his grandchildren, Breianna, Kaleb, Eden, Alexa, Allison, Keira, Seth and Josh whom will continue to love him forever. He was baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when he was 8 years old. He married and was sealed to Tere Mora on November 28, 1973, at the Mesa Arizona Temple for this life and for eternity. He began his service in the church at an early age, serving as Temple Worker, Stake President, Bishop, and Counselor in the Mexico City East Mission Presidency. He had the privilege of helping in the construction of the Aragon Stake Center and later in the construction of the Mexico City Temple. In fulfilling his callings, he was always very sensitive in identifying the needs of the youth, who were one of his priorities. Gustavo always looked for ways to bless other people's lives. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, becoming the "favorite uncle" of his nieces and nephews. He was positive, happy and had a big heart. In his free time, he enjoyed playing soccer, basketball, and volleyball with his children and church members. Dad, we will miss you very much, however we thank our Heavenly Father for having been born within the covenant, and we are certain that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ and his mercy, as his children we will have the opportunity to return one day to his presence and be an eternal family. We love you so much. We appreciate the expressions of gratitude and affection that we have received from our extended family and friends during these difficult times. SPANISH - Gustavo Rodríguez Díaz falleció el 13 de Julio del 2020 a la edad de 67 años, debido a complicaciones del COVID-19 en la ciudad de Mexico. Nació el 18 de Febrero de 1953 en la misma ciudad. Sus padres fueron José Rodríguez y Sarah Diaz. Fué el tercero de 11 hijos, siendo el cuarto de ellos en regresar al hogar celestial. Le sobreviven su compañera eterna Tere, sus hijos: Gustavo, Lehi (Missy), Ivan y Jesica; y sus nietos, Breianna, Kaleb, Eden, Alexa, Allison, Keira, Seth y Josh quienes lo seguirán amando por siempre. A los 8 años de edad se bautizó como miembro de la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días. Se casó con Tere Mora el 28 de Noviembre de 1973, sellando su matrimonio en el Templo de Mesa Arizona por ésta vida y por la eternidad. Inició su servicio en la iglesia a muy temprana edad, desempeñando llamamientos como Obrero del Templo, Presidente de Estaca, Obispo y Consejero en la Presidencia de la Misión Ciudad de Mexico Este. Tuvo el privilegio de participar en la construcción del centro de estaca Aragón y posteriormente en la construcción del Templo de la Ciudad de México. En el cumplimiento de sus llamamientos siempre fue muy sensible para identificar las necesidades de los jóvenes, quienes fueron una de sus prioridades. Gustavo siempre buscaba formas de bendecir la vida de otras personas. Amaba a su familia y disfrutaba pasar tiempo con ellos, llegando a ser el “tío preferido” de sus sobrinos. Se caracterizó por ser una persona positiva, alegre y de un gran corazón. En sus tiempos libres disfrutaba de las actividades deportivas como el fútbol, basketball y volleyball, que amaba jugar con sus hijos y los miembros de la iglesia. Papá te vamos a extrañar mucho, sin embargo agradecemos a Nuestro Padre Celestial haber nacido dentro del convenio y estamos seguros que mediante la expiación de Jesucristo y su misericordia, todos sus hijos tendremos la oportunidad de regresar un día a su presencia y ser una familia eterna. Te amamos mucho. Agradecemos las expresiones de gratitud y de cariño que hemos recibido de nuestra familia y amigos durante estos difíciles momentos.
