Hazel Harding Hyde Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Hazel Harding Hyde 1937-2014 After a remarkable and wonderful life, Hazel passed away in the early morning hours of January 11, 2014. Hazel was born in Hoytsville, Utah on March 14, 1937, the 2nd of 7 children to DeWilt Card Harding and Emma Mills. Hazel was raised on a farm in Morgan, Utah. She attended Morgan Elementary and High School and later Brigham Young University. Hazel married Ted C Draper on November 11, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple and later divorced. Hazel raised four sons on her own, who she referred to as, her Crowning Jewels. Hazel later married Doyle W. Hyde on October 23, 1986 in the Jordan River Temple. Hazel and Doyle loved to travel. They traveled throughout the world and made many friends everywhere they went. Hazel was always healthy, busy and happy. She loved life. She dedicated her life to service and her family. She worked at Jordan School District for 28 years, starting as a secretary and then as the director of payroll. Hazel was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed serving in many callings including: Temple Ordinance Worker, a teacher, the Relief Society, Young Women, and the Sunday School. Hazel was a constant example of service and grace. She was always willing to give without want and she had an unconditional love for all. Hazel will always be remembered and cherished. Hazel is survived by her sons: Brian (LaShelle), Russell (Tammy), Doug (Wendy), and Scott (Leslie) Draper. Her 6 grandchildren: Michael, Zachary, Dillon, Mitchell, Kenna, and Conner Draper. She is survived by her husband Doyle W. Hyde, his 11 children, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hazel is survived by her 6 siblings: Paul (Joanne) Harding, Tom (Dianne) Harding, Jean (Eldon) Chappell, Carl Harding, Judy (John) Krebs, and Tamera (Brent) Thorpe and many nieces, nephews and friends. A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Mount Jordan 4th Ward on 235 East 9800 South, Sandy, UT 84070. On January 16, 2014, a Viewing will be held from 9:30 am to 10:45 am prior to the Funeral at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
