Helen Athenia Glenn

February 24, 1924 - June 2, 2016

Helen was born aboard the SS Athenia sailing from the UK to North America. She grew up in Kemmerer, Wyoming and later attended the University of Wyoming and University of Utah. Helen married Howard Glenn in Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1946. She and Howard had three sons and moved to Salt Lake City in 1956. Helen was Secretary for Mount Olympus Presbyterian Church for over 30 years. After retiring she spent time volunteering at the Rowland Reading Room for the Blind in Murray. Helen loved to cook and shared this passion with her boys. Many of her favorite recipes are still enjoyed by family today. Helen loved children of all ages and would often become one herself when spending time with them. She is preceded in death by her husband Howard and survived by her sons Wesley (Patricia), Russell, and Jeffrey (Helen), as well as grandchildren Amy, Bindy, Emilie, Natalie, Vanessa, Angie, Matt and twelve great grandchildren. Helen passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. A graveside service will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park on Saturday, June 11th at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to Primary Children's Hospital on behalf of Helen.
