Henry Alfred Hansgen
November 19, 1946 - February 8, 2014
Henry Alfred Hansgen, 67, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2014 at his home. He was surrounded by his family who were privileged to have been able to care for him during his short battle with cancer. Henry was born November 19, 1946 in Provo, Utah. During his younger years he excelled in baseball and later became interested in stock car racing and golfing. His most memorable times were spent with family hunting on motorcycles in the Book Cliffs. He loved fishing and horseback riding in Strawberry, and camping and riding ATV’s with his grandchildren in Scofield, Utah. He served his country in the Army spending most of his time in Italy. After his service, he worked as a salesman for a film company that allowed him to travel. He later became the parts distributor for F. G. Ferri & Sons before moving on to purchasing a franchise with Abby Carpets in Ogden. Henry’s final employment was with the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad where he worked as an engineer. He retired after 30 years on September 1, 2011. On November 17, 1979 Henry married Colleen Zeeman and together they had four children: Sara, Jamie, Wells and Matt. After Colleen passed away, Henry married Bonnie Ann Vest Bonner on June, 25, 1988. Bonnie brought two children into the marriage: Marci and Spencer. Henry was an original. He loved people and made friends wherever he went. His personality and humor entertained and endeared him to many. He was the life of any gathering. Henry’s focus in life was his family. He was happiest when surrounded by his grandchildren: Trinity, Talia, Taiten, Colton, Kade, Camden, Dagen, and Tayvia. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Wells T. and Anna Madsen Hansgen, his sister Ruth Ann, wife Colleen, and brother Gene (Nancy). He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children Sara (Garrett) Evans, Jamie (Rodger) Linford, Wells (Amanda) Hansgen, Matt (Sarah #2) Hansgen, Spencer (Amy) Bonner, and Marci Bonner; brothers Ted (Julene) and Harvey (Christine) Hansgen. Henry, your family and many friends will miss you greatly! Henry would have liked to have had his services held in Scofield around the campfire.
